Edit: I FINALLY received an acknowledgment and an apology but it was a BATTLE. I also finally received my deposit. It was a fight though. They claimed they couldn’t find my booking. THANKFULLY, I kept my receipt and didn’t allow anyone to tell me I was wrong. My opinion on this place still stands. While the location is fine because it’s close to lots of establishments, it doesn’t make up for the costumer service or my experience here. This place needs a total overhaul on all of the rooms. It’s important to treat each guest with respect and as if they are important. That was not my experience here.
Edit: I seem to be the ONLY person here that oyo townhouse doesn’t want to apologize to for my experience or even acknowledge that I had a terrible stay with terrible service. I went through other people’s reviews to see that they received an apology and an acknowledgment. I emailed customer support and they claim they can’t find my booking. I gave them all the information, including dates and the receipt from the hotel. They claim they can’t find my information and now I know I will never receive my deposit back. This place is horrible. Trashy hotel. Horrible customer service. If I could give negative stars I would.
When I first arrived, the man at the front desk told me he was gonna put me in one room, but decided to put me in this one instead. I was too tired from travel to inquire why, but now I regret not doing so. It makes me feel like they placed me and my family in this room on purpose so they do not have to return the $50 deposit. I am always reluctant when it comes to letting housekeeping in my room, but we needed new towels and sheets. The housekeeper came and gave us new towels and sheets, but decided to throw away my sisters retainer. The housekeeper left all other trash in the room. When we returned, we tried to ask where they throw all of the trash so we can search for it. The person at the front desk told my sister that it was too late and the trash was already picked up. I only feel like they put us in this room on purpose because I walked past a room. The housekeeping left open and the room looked a lot nicer than the room they put us in. This is a cheap hotel, so I guess you get what you pay for. the location is great because there are some things that are in walking distance, but that is the only plus of this hotel.
My advice is to pay extra and stay...
Read moreMy husband and I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at the OYO Townhouse in Dodge City, Kansas for just one night during our travels. To put it bluntly, it was an absolute nightmare.
First and foremost, let's address the elephant in the room – the cleanliness, or rather the utter lack of it. The moment we entered our room, it was clear that housekeeping hadn't paid a visit in a long, long time. The carpets were stained and sticky, and I was terrified to walk barefoot on them. The bathroom was equally appalling, with visible grime in the corners and a lingering smell of mildew that just wouldn't go away. It felt like no one had even attempted to clean it for ages.
The bed, which is supposed to be a haven of comfort in any hotel, was anything but. The sheets were worn and had suspicious stains that made us question their cleanliness. Needless to say, we didn't get a wink of sleep worrying about what might be lurking in those sheets.
Now, let's talk about the neighborhood. Safety should be a top priority for any hotel, but sadly, OYO Townhouse seems to have overlooked this crucial aspect. The neighborhood felt unsafe from the moment we arrived. There were groups of people loitering around the property, and the dimly lit streets didn't do much to ease our concerns. We didn't dare venture out after dark and even locked ourselves in our room with a sense of unease.
Overall, our stay at OYO Townhouse in Dodge City, KS, was an ordeal we won't soon forget. The dirty and filthy room left us feeling disgusted and uncomfortable, and the safety concerns in the neighborhood only added to our anxiety. We couldn't check out fast enough the next morning. If you value cleanliness, comfort, and safety during your travels, I strongly urge you to steer clear of this place. There are far better options available...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed here the last day of August. Check in is smooth. The hotel in general is run down and pretty outdated. Our bathroom was pretty horrible. We had to let the shower run for nearly 30 minutes to get lukewarm water. The entire hotel is poorly cared for. The employees I think live on-site and were EXTREMELY rude to us! First they acted like they did not understand me... then I relayed to them in Spanish that I needed towels.... to be told that there were no towels for my room. I had to call the front desk and have the attendant bring us some towels... she also tried to cop out and say that the cleaning AND laundry ladies just didn't understand me.... which is a lie. MY FIRST LANGUAGE IS SPANISH....they just didn't want to go get the towels.....LAZY! The location is ok... this is located in a small town so it's near everything but then again so are all the other hotels where the racist and rude staff are not there. Also the employees hang out in the hallways and at the end of the building breezeway at very late hours at night...not creepy or anything.
In all... in a bind and last resort this hotel will get you through the night but for more than that other hotels are next door on both sides of this one that have nicer rooms.... WITH TOWELS....AND EVEN BREAKFAST.... just remember you get what you pay for.
My advise for OYO keep the front desk person she is nice, BUT seriously reconsider replacing current cleaning staff or other employees that do not want to actually do their job. And that do not disturb the peace of the customers.
We come to Dodge City from Denver once a month and will not be staying here ever again.
