IHOP — Restaurant in Dodge City

We should have know that there was trouble when there were so few cars in the parking lot on a Saturday night. We don’t live in Dodge City so we didn’t know what to expect and it was our first time. We’ve been to other IHOP locations with no issues. There was almost nobody inside the restaurant when we got there. We waited to be seated for 10 minutes. One employee couldn’t be bothered to even take his hand out his pocket to get our silverware when he did finally seat us. He walked around for a bit before he decided to ask us how he could help us. We wait for another 10 minutes for someone to take our drink order. Actually getting our drinks took some time, too. We had a large order (there were six of us) so we expected some time... an hour was very surprising to us. When we got our food everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) was either cold or merely lukewarm. Eggs were undercooked. All the employees stayed mostly in the kitchen. The only female employee stayed talking with someone almost the entire time we were there. Our waiter didn’t offer refills. We waited for a check and decided to just go wait by the register because it was taking so long. And again, there were only 3 other sets of people there. They weren’t busy. When we were waiting for a check, a couple was seated behind us. They waited 10 minutes for someone to get their drink order. Nobody came. They asked the woman employee if they had enough help and she ignored him to talk to another table about presents. The waiter that seated us that couldn’t be bothered to get his hand out of his pocket saw the couple behind us standing to leave and he turned around and walked away like he didn’t see them. That is when I realized they just didn’t care. It wasn’t that they were busy or short staffed, they just didn’t...

If i could rate it 0 stars i would have.. These are note of our experience while we were there at ihop..we arent from dodge city. But here is our review.. We stood there 10 mins b4 they took our name to wait for a table. Watched a guy stand there 10+ mins to pay for his ticket. It smelled awful in the restaurant. No one was seated social distance. The table next to us waited over 20 mins for thier food. It was only pancakes and eggs.. Another guy is waiting at the register for now 15 mins. Theres been 2 tables that needed cleaned since we been here. Now 30 mins.. Still didnt get our food.. The wait staff shirts wasnt presentable. No aprons but a couple. Tables and chairs were wabbly. 45 mins later still no food...another table sits 20 mins b4 being cleaned..another table of customers stand at the register waiting 15 mins to pay..waste of money.. The food was horrible. Couldnt even eat my burger or fries. All fries were over done. The buns on the burger was burnt. My sons burger was nasty. My husbands burger looked like it was chopped up and put on the bun..will not be coming back to here when we pass through...

I came in with a 4 person party at 11:30am. It took 40 minutes for us to get seated even though they were not busy. The host called for a 2 person party, but when they didn’t answer went back in to the kitchen for ten minutes, and when she came out, she was chewing on food. She stood at the stand for another couple minutes doing nothing, and then called a party that got to the restaurant AFTER we did.

We complained and were seated right away. There were 10 free tables. 10 minutes later, half of those tables were still dirty. Again, the restaurant was not busy, maybe half the tables had customers at them.

Once we finally got seated, we had to repeat ourselves twice to get coffee and creamer. At 12:45pm, I asked our waiter when our food would be ready, and he said maybe in another 15 minutes or so. At 12:55, we got our food. Instead of setting the plates in front of us, he handed us each our plates, which were all very hot.

Even after all that, our pancakes were cold.
