Thunderbird Motel — Hotel in Dodge City

We were not expecting the motel to be fancy by any means. We arrived at the location at 12pm and I asked a housekeeper to show me a room before we decided to stay as the grounds were a bit questionable. She showed me a clean room that was spacious. It was outdated and dark but was acceptable. We decided to book and went to the front desk which was closed but has a phone number to call. We were told to come back at 2pm. When we returned we asked for the room that we had been shown and were told it was no longer available. We agreed to another room, and when we opened the door, it had not been cleaned since the last guest. The front desk gave us a different room which was horrifying. It was dirty (even though it was called clean) the walls had unknown substances all over them, the carpets were filthy as well as the beds, bedding, and curtains. Within being in the room for less than 10 minutes we saw 3 roaches and immediately requested a refund. The gentleman at the front desk was very understanding and took care of the refund immediately. Since I was forced to pick I gave this motel a 1 when in reality I would have given it a 0....Worst night ever due to a problem with our reservation at another Hotel we needed a room quick and without thinking we stopped here BAD DECISION what seemed to be a good one at the time being she had 1 room with 3 beds for $90 and it would be just for a few hours turned out to cost us more as we were attacked by BED BUGS! When we asked for a refund she said she didn’t know anything she had been there 22 yrs. and never had this problem then denied us a refund and threatened to sue us if we said anything I was like oh ok I’m going to post a review people have a right to know!! The place is very outdated, no TV (not that it made a difference) it smells super bad the sink was all rusted it was aweful do your self a favor take my advice DO NOT STAY HERE pay the extra money to stay in a decent room!!! If I hadn't been so tired when I checked in then got to the room I would have gone back, demanded a refund and went elsewhere. I'm a smoker, although I don't normally smoke indoors or in my car, I took a smoking room. It was an awful room (202) with crappy carpet, bed linens that don't match, one looked like they just pulled up the covers and called it good on making the bed. Thick foam that I sank in and made it hotter. Not clean. Big difference between dated, but nice and that is not this motel. The AC was so high I could barely see the controls and when I turned it on it blew crap in my face and it was hot. In the morning when I could see better there was a hand drawn scotch taped picture of the controls on the front and I hadn't turned on the AC to cool. Microwave and refrigerator looked bad and I didn't open them. No coffeemaker or coffee in the room. Never again would I stay here or...
