I had a reservation last night at this establishment which I wanted to try for my daughter’s 13th birthday because it was brand new. Upon arrival the valet team (bell man) were amazing and welcoming probably the best service out of the entire facility. We called last night to place a room service order which took about 30 mins for them to answer the phone which I understood because of the heavy traffic in the hotel room due to whatever convention. We placed the order and about 45min to 1 hour later and NOBODY answered the phone. We tried for about 1hr and 30 mins for nobody to even answer the phone. We tried on and off all that time and let the phone just sit on speaker phone (nobody ever answered). We called the restaurant, front desk and concierge line. Not one department answered we even called the main number online. We called this morning to speak to a manager and he reiterated what I was telling him and he was getting upset cutting me short. I could barely express my frustration to him because at the end of the day we would have not made it a big deal but the way he belittled the our situation was terrible. He was cutting me off telling me…wait wait wait! “You mean to tell me you are calling at 7:30 am on a Sunday to complain about what happened last night” as if it was extremely petty and to me thats extremely offensive and I did not like his nonchalant tone with us. I paid for two rooms and I was taking care of multiple children that I was waiting on food for it was so late that It was so late that we could not even door dash. I just did not like the way he handled us because at the end of the day. We paid for two rooms I did not think they would let a convention over power the fact that they have families staying here. I did not appreciate this AT ALL I feel thoroughly disrespected. Whoever the from desk manager is with the heavy accent I would advice you guys to not let him be in position to answer calls or handle hotel experience (bedside manners). He had no resolution! The woman name Talisa I want to say helped the situation but I am still not happy and not mention the doors on the rooms do not close entirely when they shut on the their own you have to pull them hard in order to lock the door. I will be calling corporate because something...
Read moreWe live in Duluth. We were having some work done on our house, so we needed to stay in a hotel for a few days. I selected this hotel because it was about 10 minutes from our house and my kids wanted a nice pool. Their pool is very nice. As is their fitness center.
Some things I did not like:
When we checked in to the hotel it was pretty late in the evening. We booked the executive suite because it was a total of four of us, my husband and our two children. We needed two beds, but we also needed a little extra space since we'd be there for a few days. When we got into the room the extra bed is supposed to be a couch pull out. There were no extra sheets, or bedding. We had to call down and asked for it to be sent up. The layout of the bathroom was also kind of weird. There's not a lot of counter space to place your items nor are there any drawers. There was no place to put any cleaned towels in the bathroom which was really weird. Some hotels will have a microwave where the ice machine is. They don't have that. We were able to request one a couple days into our stay. When we were checking out I called down to request a cart to move our luggage. We waited about 25 minutes. No one came. I went downstairs and I asked at the front desk and they said that if no one comes in the next few minutes then I'm welcome to get a cart near the Starbucks. We eventually ended up getting our own cart and moving our luggage down. I expected a better view. We were only on the fourth floor. I feel like if you're paying for an executive suite you kind of want a better view. I don't know if I will ever get another suite again, not sure if the extra space was worth the extra cost. While I want more space, I would prefer to have two actual beds versus one pull out from a couch. I probably won't stay here again just because of the layout in the bathroom.
The location is convenient if you happen to be going to the gas...
Read moreReally enjoyed my staycation at Westin Gwinnett this past weekend!! This new hotel is very modern and nicely decorated! The beds were comfy, the showers are amazing, and the lounge areas throughout the hotel are very cozy.
The staff members we encountered were absolutely amazing and beyond friendly!!! From the quick and friendly check-in with Hunter, I knew it was going to be a great weekend! Special shout out to Franklin, GM of the Sweetsong Restaurant…we appreciated how he came by to ensure our dining experience went well. Special shout out to Tyler, GM of the rooftop bar…He was very professional, approachable, and fun! I especially liked how he made table reservations for my friends and I…Tyler is truly a vibe! Special shout out to the Bellmen: Marlin & Mamadou! They were so accommodating and willing to assist with our needs. Marlin has a talent for making guests feel so welcomed! Special shout out to concierge, Bianca…She took us on a short tour of the hotel and the grounds. We loved her energy! All in all….such an enjoyable weekend and we already booked for another weekend in June!!!! My two suggestions: Starbucks needs to keep more inventory!! They consistently ran out of items (I know this is not the hotel’s fault, but Starbucks is connected to the hotel, so I’m sure it plays a large part in the experience for most of the hotel guests)…Also, they didn’t take cash, which was a let down for my 12-year old nephew who tried to buy breakfast for me. The indoor pool was beautiful, but very cold. Please increase the temp...
