The Honey Bee Motel — Hotel in Dunlap

Very simple place, But we liked that. Very clean and neat rooms without the 5star fuss. There is a laminated rules list in the room asking some specific things to help keep the rooms clean and I imagine it's because it's not some corporate owned chain and so upkeep takes more effort, but my husband and I are always glad to help by just being good, considerate humans. After hours check in was done via a key lock box and a code for it sent via email. That's so nice if you arrive late and just CAN'T with people and frees up the staff so no one has to come into contact with an employee pulling their umpteenth all nighter and no one has to BE the employee pulling their umpteenth all nighter. you even request extra towels/linens by placing the ones you want to replace outside of your door in a special bag that's just picked up.

Fridge is still a mini fridge but was a little larger than those I've found in actual upscale hotels. Because of how we checked in and out, our stay was mostly contactless and, even though we love socializing, this was a trip where we really wanted to just interact with the friends we came to town to visit.

This would be a place I come back to to rest and get away from people for a little bit or stop to stay on a good ol fashioned road trip. I'm really sorry we didn't check out the restaurant next door, it looks just as charming as the motel.

My only fuss was that we arrived in a large, manual transmission jeep and came by during our trip in our friend's truck to change clothes and this parking lot is really not great for anyone who has trouble maneuvering larger POVs in spaces ideal for midsized...

We really enjoyed it here. The staff were friendly & helpful, the room was comfortable, and the burgers at the attached restaurant were delicious. Seriously - get a burger.

One of the reviews mentioned that there wasn’t much to the breakfast but I found it to be quite adequate. No frills, but a variety of options. Bagels, bread, English muffin, apples, bananas, microwave sausage biscuits, donuts, cereal, granola bars, yogurt, pop tarts. OJ, coffee, tea, water, milk.

I look for this in reviews, so I’ll add it here. Parking was free & easy. Right by the room. The doors had slightly inclined paved ramps up to them. Something that most people wouldn’t notice, but that are helpful for accessibility. Unfortunately, our room had some odd/mismatched levels of pavement & sidewalk, plus a drain pipe right in the pathway. My husband finds this scenario to be tricky to get over/around, but he did fine. Someone with greater accessibility needs would have more of a challenge but I don’t think the other rooms had this scenario. I’d call ahead if this is a...

We stayed at The Honeybee Motel last week and it was the cleanest motel we have ever stayed in. The floors were wood and super clean. Beds had new, clean sheets and the towels were large, clean, soft and very absorbent. Each morning we went to the office where they have an area for continental breakfast of bagels, pastries, hot and cold cereal, fruits, good hot coffee, hot water for tea and juice. The staff is so friendly and make you feel at home. Our room was very large and had a small refrigerator and microwave. It was quiet and the rates were very reasonable. We will definitely stay here every time we come to visit family in Dunlap. It is so nice to have a clean, friendly place to stay where you also know they appreciate your business.
