I have stayed in this hotel many times over the last four years . They have a lot of road crews and construction crews stay here and there is never enough parking . This particular trip I was quoted a price on a room and when I got there that had changed . When I initially booked the room I held it on a card of mine and explicitly instructed them that we would be paying on another family members card once we arrived . I was told that would not be an issue and that there would be no charges at all on my card . Once we arrived I realize that not only had they put a hold on my card they charged almost a thousand dollars to my card and it had drained all of my bill money out of my account . I also informed them that I would be arriving in the late hours of the evening around 2 or 3 am . They said they called us and they did not call us at all . So then they went ahead and charged my card because they said we did not answer the phone when in fact my phone was in front of my eyes the entire time For gps and it never rang once . Then the girl at the e see so proceed to break down and have a full On tantrum and included bawling her eyes out which was very unprofessional . The following morning I approached the head manager about it and told him what happens . He then proceeded to treat me poorly accusing me of sneaking my dog into the hotel which was not then nor ever has been the case . The other manager even acknowledged that I have had my own there on multiple occasions and that the head manager was in fact present and next to him on multiple occasions that I have had my let there . The head manager was rude and treated me as if I had done them wrong and had been discourteous . I informed him he should watch the tapes of the security camera because the young lady at the front counter said I had cussed her out which I did not and that I had treated her poorly which I did not . Every time that I have stayed here I have felt with Michael who has always been courteous and I have never had an issue . But the way I have been treated this last time is beyond me and I have been made feel like I am welcome . From now on I will never stay here another night . I will take my hard earned money to another town if need be because they are also affiliated with the hotel next to them and the one they are currently building on the other side . This manager is rude and has no business treating people the way he does . Upon leaving thia review I have browsed the other reviews and seen that I am not the first person this has happened to and I’m sure I won’t be the last . On top of dealing with all of this I was in town for a passing of a family member which they don’t need to know about but it has added to the stress I am already experiencing by a death in the family. Avoid this place at all cost . Because obviously the head manager needs to be replaced by someone who understands what being a decent...
Read moreWe stayed in rooms 204 & 205. The check in and checkout process was fine. Room 204 had an unpleasant smell (I think that I was coming from the air conditioner) but we didn’t complain or try to switch rooms because we wanted both rooms to be next to each other. The television in room 205 stopped working. We called down to the front desk and the gentleman came up pressed a few buttons in the back of the TV and said it should work now. It’s still didn’t work so my father watched TV on his phone. Once I found out that he had been watching TV on his phone, I went into the room and had to fix the television myself by pressing buttons and switching the HDMI settings. I feel like this was not my responsibility and someone from the hotel should have fixed this problem for us. Also, in room 205 the toilet flushed on its own all night long which was annoying. And room 204, the toilet would not flush because the water filled up very very slowly in the back of the toilet. I had to fill the ice bucket up with water and pour it into the back of the toilet in order to flush it. A family member told me that the woman from the front desk came to the second floor looking for children that we’re running. She asked the housekeeper in the hallway if she saw any kids running around. I have two small children ages three and six that were so excited to be in this hotel so occasionally they would run from room 204 and 205 to the elevator when it was time to go to the pool (the elevator is right next to the rooms). There were other children in the hotel but The lady mentioned that rooms 204 and 205 were right over the front desk so I’m sure that she was talking about my children. While she was up there she said, “it sounds like a bunch of elephants running around up here.” My family member then replied, “they are small kids, no where near big enough to sound like elephants.” That was rude, disrespectful, and very inappropriate for an employee to say to or even around a customer.
The pool room smelled very bad (similar to a wet basement) and the water was freezing cold. There was an employee there that told us that the humidifier was broken and the parts should be delivered that day. Since it was broken they had to turn the temperature down in the room because the windows were foggy. So the pool experience is was terrible.
The lady that was in charge of the breakfast was very nice to us. She kept the items stocked/filled and the area was clean and very well maintained.
Because of these events, I give this place a low rating. I wouldn’t book here again or recommend anyone...
Read moreWe are a company that comes to Dyersburg every three weeks for work and this hotel was going to start accommodating us with a room every three weeks for a rate of $92 a night (a special rate for staying there every three weeks). Our first trip everything was fine and priced correctly. I went in on our second trip and they had us booked for one king bed instead of a double bed like the first time and tried to charge us $160 when they had already priced us something different that they tried to say they didn’t but were able to look at the price from the time we had stayed before and they then realized I was telling them the truth about what a manager there had priced us a room at. They then said they did not have any double bed rooms available and that they had been all booked up before we even made the reservation after the first night we stayed there, which was never brought to our attention. They then offered to put a roll out bed in the room for us (with no charge) but the gentlemen that comes with me on our work trips has secondary progressive MS and can not sleep on a roll out bed and I am a veteran that gets compensation from the military for my back problems so sleeping on a roll out bed is not an option for me either. The general manager of the hotel was not willing to do anything to help accommodate us to make sure we had a room with two beds. He did not offer any other way to accommodate us and had the nerve to raise his voice at me when I was frustrated for the situation but I never raised my voice at him until he raised his voice at me. Overall it was a very unpleasant experience and I would not recommend anyone staying at this hotel as long as it’s the same general manager and if they can’t communicate with each other to make sure customers are taken care of. If this is how it is going to be then they need to at least learn the proper way to accommodate people for their mistakes. Thanks to their mistakes we are now three hours from home with nowhere to stay. A customer should always be put first and accommodated anyway necessary when it is your own employee’s mistakes.
I have also looked at the other recent reviews and most of the negative reviews are because of the employee Trevor who was the one responsible for booking us the wrong room. He is obviously a consistent problem for customers so I don’t understand how they could at all say it was our fault when he seems to make mistakes on a regular basis but nothing is being...
