Absolutely Disgusted with My Experience – DO BETTER, WAFFLE HOUSE.
I don’t usually write reviews, but this experience was so ridiculous and unprofessional that I feel the need to warn others.
I visited Waffle House recently and ordered something pretty simple: a hashbrown melt bowl with a side of grits. What I got instead was a complete joke — not even close to what I ordered. They gave me a giant bowl of grits (not the side I asked for, but like a full meal-sized bowl) with two slices of cheese just plopped on top and two pieces of chicken just sitting there like a sad garnish. No hashbrowns. No melt. Just a gritty mess that looked like someone gave up halfway through cooking.
When we politely told the server that this wasn’t what I ordered, the cook (who I guess decided he was done for the day?) loudly announced that he wasn’t going to cook any more chicken. Instead of just fixing the mistake or even pretending to care about food safety, he walked over, used his bare hands — with NO gloves — to pick the chicken out of the bowl, and threw it BACK onto the grill. I was absolutely horrified. That is beyond unprofessional — that is a serious health code violation.
This wasn’t just a mix-up. This was a complete lack of care, hygiene, and customer service. I didn’t even feel comfortable eating anything else after seeing that. I don’t know if this is how this Waffle House runs all the time, but if so, someone needs to step in and address it. The staff seemed like they didn’t want to be there and took it out on the food and the customers.
I didn’t come in expecting five-star dining. It’s Waffle House — I came for simple comfort food. But what I got was gross, unsafe, and flat-out disrespectful.
Get it together. This was...
Read moreThis was our first visit to the new Waffle House in town. We went in at 11:30 on Mothers Day and sat down at the bar. We were the only ones sitting at the bar. They were busy but had at least 8 people working. No one said hello or offered any kind of greeting. We grabbed menus for our selves and the gentlemen in front of us behind the counter was prepping and totally ignored us. A manager came by and was talking to the man saying things like- “I bet you thought I was gone.” And telling him not to talk about Smokey because he was “special”. Again, she looked right at us and kept jawing to him. Other customers came in and she told them not to sit down until the counter was clean. They sat down anyway. Additionally, 2 servers walked by. One with four plates of waffles and her hair was in one plate. After stewing for 10 minutes with no acknowledgment whatsoever, we left. Poor service, rude employees. No chance to try to food. Doubt we will try again and will tell everyone of...
Read moreExcellent food. Excellent service. Excellent atmosphere.
Our waitress was Piper. She is an attentive waitress. After ordering, she provided our beverages and utensils as the professional and genuine service person we expected. We were my wife, our grandson, and myself this visit.
If you have never been to a Waffle House, this is a good lace to start. The staff cares, from the doorman to the cashier. They genuinely want you to wnjoy your visit and meal.
Piper was a constant at our seats to keep the drinks full and the places cleared as we finished our food. It was not like their competition. It was a warm experience which our grandson now gets to enjoy with us.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND to everyone in this area. Tip well when you receive good. hearted felt service with your food and...
