Very poor experience with Super 8 staff and corporate. They will charge you maliciously even for nights you are no longer staying. The management did nothing to address our issue. I will never book with Super 8 ever again. I hope to spare others from their horrible business practices. I will be reporting to the better business bureau also. There is discrimination by the management staff. And half the time the general manager, Mr. Patel isn't even at the counter. I tried to make changes to our reservation multiple times, only to be net with an empty front desk and a sign to call if I need assistance. Then when he does finally decided to tend to any customers, he does nothing to solve their concerns. No flexibility in the scheduling despite that being the 1st greeting I received when I called Super 8 corporate. They also were no help since this location is independently owned and I operated. BBB and letter to Super 8 corporate are to follow. I can't believe the shady business practice and rudeness the GM has shown his guests. Unbelievable that these crooks can force you to pay for an additional night and charge you full price when you have no intention of staying. Tried to change dates within 24 hours of check in. Read moreI called the number that is listed here to make my reservation at the Dyersville, Iowa hotel. I spoke at length with a staff member concerning their refund policy, in case I had to cancel the reservation. I was told if I canceled the reservation by 3pm the day before (9/23/21) I would get a full refund. I was concerned about this because we were trying to get a place to stay in Guttenberg and we’re on several lists to be called in case something opened up there. The morning of 09/23/21 something did open up in Guttenberg. I called the same number I had called making the reservation to cancel it. They said I made the reservation via a third party and they could not help me. I explained I had called them directly to make it, but they said it was through a third party. I found the email confirming my reservation and it came from reservations.com, but when I looked in my browser history I had never visited that site. Not to mention I don’t make reservations on line, because I want to talk to a live person, among other reasons. So the only explanation I can come up with is that staff at this hotel make the reservation through this web site. They denied this, but the bigger issue is that they keep $19.99 for “customer service” when they refund your money. What a scam! I will never make a reservation with a Super 8 or a Wyndham owned...
Read moreWe visited this hotel during a brief overnight stay in the Dyersville area. This was not our first choice of a hotel but as it turned out there was a baseball game going on and most of the hotels in the area were full. Even though this was not my first choice it turned out to be a clean and comfortable Hotel. The amenities are basic. There are no frills, as it were and this is definitely not a five-star hotel. However, if you are simply looking for overnight accommodations and are not concerned with extra amenities this is a fine place to stay. The room was clean. The main lobby area was also well kept. This hotel does not include a lot of extra amenities such as a pool but, did have a very simple buffet style (self-serve) complimentary breakfast. Even though there were a lot of people staying during this weekend the staff did a good job of accommodating everyone. The staff was pleasant and even able to answer questions about other businesses in the area. I did not bring a pet but did see a couple of other guests with small dogs.
