When My Children I Arrived The Only Worker Who Had Hospitality Was The Person Who Checked Us In. Sorry I Don't Remember Her Name. We Proceed To The Car And Get Our Belongings To Take To The Room. As I Do At Any Hotel I Bring My Own Cleaning Products To Sanitize The Room.(Doing So Before The Pandemic) Because Of My Health Issues. Spraying Down Curtains,Beds,Surfaces,Lamps,Walls,Handles,Etc. My Children And Head Out To A Few Store Get Something To Eat Then Returned Back The Hotel Where As I Proceed To Start Getting Them Ready For Bed. My 8yr Old Comes Out The Restroom And Says Mommy There's A Bug On The Bed.When I Turned Around I Said THAT"S A ROACH! So I Tell My Oldest Son To Kill It! But He Missed It And It Ran Under The Bed! I Then Turn Around Towards The Tv And The Picture Hanging On The Wall Adjacent To The Tv. There Goes A Family Of Roaches Coming From The Picture Frame!!! I Said OH HELL NO LET"S GO. Had To Shake Out Our Things So WE Don't Take Unwanted Guest Back Home With Nor To The Other Hotel WE Had To Check Into. I Stopped At The Front Desk And Said I Need A Refund! Because My 8yr Old Daughter Is Allergic To Them. So She Said She Is Not Authorized To Give A Refund And Gave Me A Number To Contact Tony Patel. He's The Only One Who Can Do It. Ok No Problem. So I Called Early The Next Morning Before We Checked Out The Hotel We Were Staying At. The Person Who Answered The Phone Said He Was Walking The Floor. Ok No Problem She Took My Name And Number To Relay The Message To Tony Regarding My Refund.Never Received A Phone Call! My Aunt Went There A Spoke With Him. She Told Him I Was On My Way There To Speak With Him. As I'm Pulling In He Was Walking Out Not Knowing That It Was Him. I Go In And Ask For Him The Lady Behind The Desk Said I Don't Know Where He Is Right Now. Then Another Employee Comes Up And Says "OH Tony Went To Lunch" I Said Ok No Problem I'll Wait.(But Why Would You Leave When You Knew I Was Coming?) Ok She Said Is That For The Refund I Said Yes! Because This Hotel Has Roaches! My Daughter Is Allergic And I'm Guessing These People Was Thinking That I'm Just Saying This For My Health! It Is Documented That She Is Allergic TO: Cockroaches,Dust Mites,& Mold! So To Avoid Our Trip Turning Into I Hospital Visit We Had To Leave. So She Says Ok Well Call The Company Who You Booked With To Get Your Money Back. I Said Ok Which I Proceeded To Do. They Were On The Phone With Me And Trying To Contact The Property As Well To Tell About My Complaint. No Success. So They Sent And Email In My Regard. My Family Wanted To Know Why Was This Tony Guy The One Who Can Issue The Refund. All This Time Done Passed And Tony Still Haven't Returned From Lunch. We Ask For A Number To Contact Him They Refused That And Refuse To Call Him And Now All Of Sudden He Was Gone For The Day And Won't Be Back For Days! But You Just Told Me He Went To Lunch!? This Sounds Like A Lot Of Games Being Played With My Situation. So I Called The Police For Someone To Get In Contact With This Guy Cause They Weren't Any Help To Us. They Speak To Tony Now He Said He'll Be Back In The Morning Around 8 Am. And He Can't Check His Email Til He Gets To Work. The Officer Says Why Is That Cause You Can Check Email From Wherever You Are! But Ok. They Told Us All The Options To Do. Started With Calling Him Or Coming Back Up There In The Morning And Go From There. Ok So I did When A Couple Times This Morning He Still Was Not IN! Smh THE WORST HOTEL IN HISTORY!!!!!!!!!!!!...
Read moreThis is the second time we stayed at The Baymont by Wyndham in Elizabeth City, NC. The first time was only for one night so it didn't seem so bad. There were holes in the inside of the bathroom door. The breakfast would have been ok if an employee wasnt staring at us the entire time. They also had their music blaring out of their phone. Employees gather in the area as well. Wheres the management? We took some cold breakfast to the room. Then the maid was knocking on the door asking when we were leaving. We hurried to packnand felt pushed out of our room before check out time....
Our most recent stay was in July 2024. We stayed for two nights. Wow! Can you see just how bad it is when staying the second night. Never AGAIN. Ive left several reviews and I hardly ever make it a point to post a review, but this time its to save anyone from wasting their money on a more than lack luster stay.
Of the two mornings we were to have the included hot breakfast only one of our party of three got to grab some breakfast before they packed it up on one of the two days. Rather, packed it in. The staff eats the food and they close down the breakfast before its time. It closes to early anyways and we tried to eat the first morning except all the chairs are stacked and the foods gone 20 minutes early. The second morning why try.....but one of us went. Someone commented that the employees had eaten the hot food but there are a few eggs left and muffins. Im disabled so Im glad I didnt waste my steps to walk down there! Next the maid service.....if you could understand what they were saying at the door when trying to come in to clean that would be wonderful. But not one of them spoke English.....not even close. The pool was covered in tiny bugs and most definitely hadnt been cleaned. You had to use your towel from your morning shower as have fun getting another from a maid that you cant speak to. We tried....
Theres employees sitting in the foyer area when you enter near the front desk. Sitting in the guest seating using their phones like they are on vacation. Lol. Wow!
I picked up the room phone receiver to call straight to the front desk as our free wifi wouldn't work and neither did the room phone! Its not EVEN PLUGGED INTO A JACK! NOR was the jack working as the hole to plug the line in was blocked. Cell services are spotty in the area so its IMPORTANT to have the room phone. If we had an emergency so much for calling for help! The outlet beside the TV had so many cords plugged into it as well. Im sure thats a fire hazard. A complete waste of $260 plus for 2 nights! We should get a refund, but theres noone to speak to! Never again! Id update my review if the owner contacted us to speak about the stay we experienced. There was more to say but you get the point...I dont like to leave negative reviews but this stay was just awful so...
Read moreStayed here 11/21/15. Rate only marginally better than other hotels nearby of higher quality. One rate showed up when booking online, but when getting ready to finalize the booking we discovered the rate had jumped nearly $30. No clear explanation from staff as to why when we called the hotel to discuss. Decided to go ahead and give it a try anyway. We arrived tired after a daylong cycling event and check-in was fine, the young lady up front was quiet but respectful. What happened after that is what made it so that we will have to really think twice as to whether we'd stay here again. We stayed on the 2nd floor and were facing parking lot behind the hotel where tractor trailers park. No problem there. The problems began when no less than 7 cars filled with teenagers pulled up and were yelling and carrying on right beside the hotel on the sidewalk. Over the next few hours, they kept coming and going, sometimes going behind the trucks in groups doing who knows what. We had parked by the trucks so that we could see our vehicle from the window, but I felt it was unsafe and moved it to the front of the hotel. When I got out of the car to come back inside, a large group of the same teenagers had now moved to the front of the hotel and were lingering by the entrance. Upon entering the hotel and reaching the elevator, another large group spilled out of the elevator, some appearing intoxicated, mistook me for a police officer and quickly left the building. All of this in full view of the night staff. It was a restless night after that and we ultimately ended up leaving the hotel earlier than we'd planned. The staff at the desk in the morning were more concerned with the conversation they were having with each other than our concerns about the night and our concerns fell on deaf ears. In exasperation we loudly wished them a good day as we left and finally got a response. Now maybe this was just a fluke or an aberration, our experience, but I'm not sure I'm ready to give them another try to find out, especially when the staff were unreceptive. Our room itself was fine - clean and everything as it should be, but other concerns grossly...
