One of the nicest Motel 6 in the Chicgoland area very similar to Prospect Heights location, price is extremely reasonable for having King size beds, full cable with all movie channels, staff is very helpful, have stayed there for extended periods and in my opinion managment holds certain guests to higher standards than others, Ex. We recently have been without a vehicle for transportation which makes taking our belongings with us for the day when we leave very troublesome, the staff was very accommodating allowing us to leave our couple bags behind the desk in the corner well 12-23 I was struck by a vehicle as a pedestrian and was unable to return for our belongings for almost a week, when we did return we were politely informed we wouldn't be able to do that again, we were forced to leave them in the stairwell on the side exits, shortly there after we were told not to do that so we left it under a table in the laundry room were told we would be banned if we left our 2 bags anywhere inside the hotel so we were forced to leave them outside on the back of the building we did that for 2days when the 3rd day they were not there and we were informed they were taken from outside the building and locked in a room that couldnt be accessed until the morning so we had a room paid for but no clothes food or hygiene products etc, all of that would be fine and dandy if after not returning for almost 2 weeks my wife was told she and I would be Banned this time for a number of petty violations, but the more alarming matter was my wife informing me that the Manger had told her that I was bringing her down and using her and if she was her daughter she would have something to say about it, this was shocking news since I've been with my wife for 10years put her threw school bought her a car and was welcomed into my own family as blood my father became ill and allways considered her his daughter and she called him Dad, been rough the past 2years just trying to navigate daily life and make 2 ends meet. I'm fine with all the other things but to personally attack me behind my back without knowing a single thing about me my wife or our situation and to make assumptions and basically call me trash was the breaking point also being told not to ask for money as if we were some sort of gypsy vagabonds begging any and everyone for money when In fact less than a handful of times we asked if a quarter or less than a dollar could be spared for a bus ride, we were again told we would be banned for this unacceptable and inappropriate behavior mind you my wife literally cleans the room daily wiping everything ng down making the bed emptying the garbage its actually frustrating to me as it's a hotel and people are paid to do it but it makes her happy so what can I say. One night I saw a guest who frequented the hotel curled up in the fetal position with his dog sleeping In The 2nd floor stairs i told my wife and she the next morning informed management. I was a little confused when they told her that was highly unlikely since the person in question didn't even have a room at the hotel currently.... I mean which is why he was sleepin in a hallway. It's sad that certain people go out of there way to find something wrong or create a problem that doesnt exsist, it is suppose to be a hospitality industry but I see them speak to certain Individuals without patience or banning them simply for the sake of not letting the "riff raff" overstay its welcome with the "business folk". I never took it personal until comments were made about my relationship and I've never spoken to some of the employees, there are a few exceptional employees who pay attention to guest needs remember guests personal preferences and are allways kind and courteous mainly 2nd Shift work a...
Read moreStayed here on a business trip to Chicago. The hotel served adequately, and offered a bargain rate. It was mostly quiet, with only the occasional airplane noise during the night, and quite well kept overall.
It's located close to O'Hare Airport, though actually getting here from the airport (or anywhere else) is going to require driving. Also not great access to CTA trains, the nearest stations being the one at the airport or at Rosemont, 20 minutes away by PACE bus #223.
There's little to nothing within casual walking distance of the hotel. It's in a primarily industrial area. There's a Sam's Club, a dollar store and some restaurants within a mile or two. The view from my room was the roof of the adjacent Public Storage facility.
The room was overall clean and well kept, with daily housekeeping refreshing the beds and replacing used towels. The beds were unremarkable, clearly built for durability more than comfort, the mattresses being very firm. Pillows and blankets were clean and fresh. There was a cool little mushroom growing beneath the toilet, I left it be until housekeeping noticed and removed it on Day 4. Minimal in-room amenities, no refrigerator or microwave or coffee maker. There's an ice machine down the hall.
Hallways and common areas were clean, tidy and well lit. There's a vending alcove near the elevators, with an ice machine, snacks and beverages. There's free coffee in the lobby, but if you're a late riser it'll be empty when you get there.
Ample parking in the lot, the hotel issues a parking pass and I had no issue at all obtaining a second one for my guest.
Staff were friendly and professional, and made check-in and check-out quick and efficient. This hotel does, somewhat unusually, require registration and ID for all guests staying in the room, not just the primary guest.
Overall, I'm satisfied that I got my money's worth from a hotel in this class. I imagine the main clientele here is budget travelers passing through O'Hare. If you're traveling for pleasure or with family, I'd probably recommend a more walkable hotel with more amenities. If you're just looking for a clean, quiet, safe room with a bed and a shower at a good...
Read moreI was simply trying to inquire about my brother who was missing and the manager started raising her voice at me and telling me that I'm not allowed to ask about anyone if I'm not a customer. I told her that i am and I had a reservation. She demanded that i give her my phone numer, reservation number, ID, and email address. After all of that she said I wasn't allowed to have him in my hotel room because she said the reservation had only one person on it and said that she was going to upcharge me for having him and any other person staying with me EVEN THOUGH WHEN I BOOKED IT ONLINE I BOOKED FOR 4 PEOPLE!!! She continued to berate me and said if i dont like the service then to go ask for a refund. I started to call the customer service while she started YELLING AT ME to never book at that hotel again!! She was also very rude to my mother and sister, shoving her hand in their faces anytime they even started to explain anything. And she FORCED US TO LEAVE BEFORE CHECKOUT!!! On top of that when I booked the 2 bedroom hotel it says that I can have 4 people in the hotel and when I came in Ididn't have any issues with the man at the desk who was very kind. After all that drama she continued to be sarcastic and rude, until I explained to her how she was being rude did she stop and lower her voice eventually. All this was unnecessary and she could have been kind in the beginning. The booking services called her and told her not to be rude to us, to which she replied "i wasnt being rude"-in a ride way and then yelled at him that we were only calling for a refund because we "didnt get our way." And she told him that the reservation was for 2 people (contradicting what she said earlier. She said that there was onmy 1 person on the reservation) After all that, the other manager asked her what the issue was and she told him we had 4 people and he told her THAT SHE WASNT SUPPOSED TO START UPCHARGING UNLESS THERE WAS AT LEADT 6 PEOPLE IN THE HOTEL ROOM. HER NAME IS ESTELL!! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE MANAGER!! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE!! Never...
