The time-share sales were about as bad as they could be. Upon registration, two guys teamed up to push us into agreeing to a time-share presentation the next day. This delayed us 30 minutes from getting to our rooms.
This was the 2nd time I had agreed to a time-share presentation. The first was in St. George.
It's clear now, after two of these, the people setting up the meetings either lie intentionally or don't have a clue about what happens in the presentations.
Both times I was promised it would be no more than 60 minutes. In St. George, we walked out after 75 minutes, and the presenter acted appalled that we could be so rude. This time, we stayed to the end, and total time was just shy of two hours (1:55).
The incentive of attending the presentation was a 7-night vacation that comes with many limitations and restrictions that they don't tell you about such as no bookings during holidays and seasonally high periods such as when kids are out of school. It's also with a vacation rental company that’s unaffiliated with Wyndham or Worldmark, and there are multiple ways listed in the fine print that you can forfeit your promised vacation.
Their sales angle was to convince us to spend over $25,000 to upgrade our membership with an assurance that it would pay for itself. The upgrade would have given us 3 additional weeks of annual vacations, and all we had to do was sell back a week of vacation each year and use their credit card.
The numbers they throw out don’t make sense, but it’s hard to challenge their logic with questions as they keep talking while you’re struggling to understand what they are saying. They make selling a week’s vacation sound simple and great, but I highly doubt the revenue they promise from this would come anywhere near to be what they indicate.
If selling back vacation credits is such a good deal for us, where we split the revenue with Wyndham 60/40, why wouldn’t Wyndham want to keep the vacation credits and sell them directly thereby earning 100% of the revenue.
I wish I would have asked if they could guarantee the revenue from selling back credits and that it would actually pay for itself as they claimed repeatedly. I didn’t think of that at the time, but I did ask if I could take the contract with me for review before signing, and of course they wouldn’t allow that.
They expect you to trust them blindly (100%) by signing documents without understanding what you're signing. It's ironic that back to the original two guys, after trusting their promises and agreeing to a presentation, they demonstrated zero trust in us by requiring that we put a $40 deposit down that we'd forfeit if didn't keep our promise to show up for the meeting.
At that point, I should have asked for a deposit from them that they would forfeit if the meeting was longer than 60 minutes.
One reason the meeting went so long is because they cycle through different sales people, I suppose hoping that one of them will be able to win us over. One of these guys they brought in claimed to be the finance guy that rarely comes out of his office. Yet he wrote down numbers, legible to us, but upside down from his perspective. In other words, he was so adept at writing upside down, it seemed clear he could probably do his presentation in his sleep.
Aside from the lady at the front desk, we met with five different sales people before they realized we were not buying their BS.
In summary, these people are professional liars, and they wasted 2.5 hours of our time with the promise of a vacation that we may not even end up using. I would be ashamed and embarrassed to work in such a morally-bankrupt job. What they do...
Read moreRESORT LOCATION AND UNIT||||We stayed at a Worldmark Resort on the Boulevard. This complex is directly on Las Vegas Blvd, but is quite a bit south of the main strip area. They provided a complimentary shuttle on the hour to take you up the the strip, which was nice. The complex is nice and clearly well maintained. Our particular unit was a 2 bed, 2 bath that was reasonably up to date with finishes. The guest bedroom had 2-twin beds and there was an additional pull down (Murphy bed) as well.||||Check in and out was smooth and easy. We actually checked in quite early, about 12:30 p.m. or so. Our unit was ready to go. Since the resort is right in the heart of Vegas, the views are not that great. The patios and balconies all face toward the middle of the complex where the different pools are located.||||Although the weather was sunny, it was on the chilly side with highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s. It was actually warmer back home than it was in Vegas while we were there during the first week of March! We hear you, but it was Vegas, baby! It was just fine and safe to walk around the area.||||Worldmark is owned by Wyndham. Worldmark is basically their timeshare brand. Wyndham also owns RCI. So, even though we are happy members of our own vacation club (UVC) we decided to go to Wyndham's timeshare presentation. Well, they gave us a free week to use inside RCI, so why not?||||Just be aware they may want you to attend their presentation if you stay here.||||RESORT FACILITIES||||The facility itself was rather large with 16 total buildings. There are 4 outdoor and HEATED pools with hot tubs that were actually hot, a decent sized fitness room, a main check in/out area, a game area, and a little market. Each pool was good sized and one of the areas was actually a lazy river. There were also barbeque areas.||||We really did not know what to expect from the resort itself. We were certainly pleasantly surprised by the complex, location, and overall amenities. You never know what you might get, especially with the deal we were able to obtain through RCI. Well worth the money.||||RESORT ACOMMODATIONS||||As noted, our unit was a nice sized 2 bed and 2 bath overlooking one of the pool areas. We were in Building 10 which is located in the back corner of the property. Pretty quiet. All buildings had elevators so no problem getting around for anyone. The complex offers all types of units from studio (hotel room) to 3 bedroom. It might be nice to go have at least a queen bed in the guest bedroom instead of 2-twin beds, but definitely better if traveling with kids. The beds and furniture were all comfortable. The unit had a gas fireplace that made the unit very comfortable in the chill of the night. The unit had a full kitchen with everything you needed.||||As mentioned, we were not really sure what to expect from the resort and accommodations. We were very pleasantly surprised! Resort was nice. Unit was very comfortable. No complaints. We would definitely recommend this property to others. Keep in mind, it is not in the heart of the strip. That is just what we wanted for this trip, but others might want to be in the middle...
Read moreI came here because I was offered a deal buying 3 show tickets for less, if I attended a presentation for 2hrs. So, I bought the "cheap" tickets and agreed to attend. Once here, I noticed it was a presentation for a sales pitch on Timeshare. The sales person that attended us was Tito Fuentes, he was very nice and polite, great customer service/sales person. Explained everything and gave us various options to persuade us into buying a Timeshare. We plotely declined. After about an hour and a half with him, we were then taken to another room, where several other people that had also declined were sitting at tables. We were told we were filling out a survey. Wrong. We spent another 45mins here. It was my husband, my mom and I, sitting at a table. This Asian lady in a hot pink suit jacket walked in, her name tag said Mai. She rudely told my mom to move from where she was sitting and to take a chair from another table to sit (strike 1). She insisted in getting us to buy a package. We politely declined like 4 times. She asked if we had kids, I said not yet. Then she rudely went on to say "you don't even have any kids! What are you spending your money on! You don't even have any kids! You should be traveling!" (strike 2). Again, I politely declined and said no, I don't want to commit into buying. She persisted and then said "why are you saving your money?? You're gonna die and not take it with you! You're gonna die and your money stays", she said this like 3 times, OUTLOUD (strike 3). I was still polite and tried to brush it off, laugh, and said no thank you. She then went on to repetively say OUT LOUD infront of the other people in that room; "but look at you, you don't even have any kids!" (strike 4) - she said this several times out loud, and said I had nothing to spend my money on because I don't have kids and that i needed to travel and buy a package (strike 5). She got mad because I did not want to buy a Timeshare. Her attitude was AWFUL. She is very inconsiderate. Couples not having kids is a very sensitive subject. This lady does not know what people may be going through. Her yelling these comments at us in a room full of people was so INAPPROPRIATE. It was embarrassing too. She walked us to the elevator and in a very conceited and arrogant way said she has a great life and travels a lot. I told her good for her. She alone made this experience absolutely terrible. This place gets a one star because of her. The rest of the employees we spoke to were polite. That horrible person Mai is the reason you will lose customers and not have them sign up. She should be...
