This hotel must have recently had a change of management. The reviews were mostly good, but completely wrong! We reserved a room with two beds. When we got to the room, there was one bed. There was no one at the front office to help. We had to go to another hotel for the night. We returned the next day and were able to get the room with two beds. No refund for the first night. Horrible customer service. The room was just short of disgusting. The linens were dirty. Wash cloth appears to have been used as a cleaning rag. Had holes and stains. The shower had black mold and the exhaust fan/ceiling light had a dozen bugs in it. The web site advertises cleanliness with hepa air filtration… there were no air filters at all. The thermostat on the wall did not control the window ac unit mounted through the wall. The AC unit barely cooled at all. The exterior is unkept and run down. Would make a good setting for a horror film. I would recommend trying any other hotel in Estas Park.

Stayed here for 2 nights. This establishment has been recently rennovated and switched owners/managers .... All for the better! It was so pleasant to stay somewhere where the staff actually care about your business and want to accommodate you. The staff in the lobby (John and his wife) were very friendly, professional and helpful. Breakfast was simple but layed out with care in a room with lots of open viewing windows. Delicious cookies were always available and the rooms were modest but very comfortable with new bathrooms, new fixtures, new almost everything so very clean. Awesome place for the Estes Colorado Mountains experience and very convenient to delicious restaurants, stores and all the sites. Great price and Great views from our room. If we woke up earlier I'm sure we would have seen elk, deer, bear and all the other wonderful wildlife roaming the area.

My husband and I arrived right as the office was closing for the night (10:00pm) to get checked into our room after a long day of traveling. Once checked in the office staff left. When we got to our room, it had not been cleaned from the prior guest. We went back to the front office and found an emergency number on the door, we called and were told they had no other rooms and no one to clean at that time of night - so we were left without our reserved room (that we booked a month in advance). With no assistance from Blue Door Inn we were able to find a room down the road (for a higher rate). Unbelievably disappointing, so stressful, AND we were out more for the other room and are still trying to get our money back from this reservation.

Quite good. The owners clearly take pride in the property and service. That makes all the difference.

We’ve stayed at a few places up here; came up this time for a wedding and needed a more or less last-minute reservation due to changes in the wedding plans.

First, We really appreciate how accommodating they were. We had to be at the wedding reception by 1:30, and wouldn’t be back until late in the evening. We know places up here don’t keep the front office manned all night, especially in the winter - and check in time wasn’t til 3, so we were concerned about checking in with our schedule. To our extreme relief, the Blue Door Inn folks were able to check in all three rooms in our party early - and even called me letting me know my room would be ready early since I asked about it in the reservation comments. I know they don’t have to do this, but they helped us out - so fantastic, and thank you!

Front desk was super friendly. Room was clean and heat worked very well on a very cold and windy January night in the mountains. Everything else was up to par - good hot water and water pressure, parking was no problem, and they had cleared the snow and ice. Nice toiletries in the room, fridge, microwave, good TV and WiFi was solid. Black-out type curtains in the room keep things private. Disagree with other reviews saying the heater was noisy - it was no problem for us at all on a below-freezing night, and I’m a light sleeper.

Overall fantastic for the price, and glad to say no problems here and all went well and we’d definitely come back. I stay at hotels 75 nights a year or so for work, so I’ve seen it all - and I don’t hesitate at all to recommend this place. Only issue: the entrance is a little hard to spot from the road at night when...

Great place! The location was perfect! Super close to the RMNP entrance and the Stanley hotel. Also really close to everything in the town. The owners are extremely nice and willing to give travel advice and suggestions. The beds were comfortable and the whole room was clean. The sheets smelt like Gain laundry detergent and the bathroom was spotless. The shower had an amazing shower head that felt like a rainfall that was very appreciated after a long cold hiking day at the park. Because of covid they did not have a daily maid service but anything you need, they provided at your request. Breakfast items were also available to be delivered to your rooms in the morning as well and coffee was served every morning in the lobby. The tv in the rooms had the Netflix app so you could log in to your account and watch Netflix. The owner also mentioned that he was working on making other tv apps available on the TVs too. The room and the bathroom had heaters of their own which was a nice touch and much appreciated after a snowy day! The only 2 things I can say that I didn’t like was the main door was wood and since wood expands and shrinks it did not close properly. It was able to be locked but the door just didn’t fit in the frame all that great (however the owner mentioned at check out that he is going to remove and replace the wood doors soon) and my other thing I didn’t like was the A/C unit is a little too loud for me when it’s running. But overall I still would 100% recommend staying at Blue Door Inn! We will definitely stay again the next time we...

Husband and I were in town for a quick visit/wedding. I hadn't stayed at this particular motel before, but the reviews were good and pictures looked nice. It was a wonderful stay. Management took on this place about 4 years ago, we were told, and had to really turn this place around. They've done a great job. Everyone we encountered who worked here was incredibly nice and helpful. (Jeremy is awesome!) The room was super comfortable and clean -- loved that they had a microwave, fridge, and coffee maker. The bed/sheets/pillows were awesome! I travel for work and we're put up in the nicest Hyatt's, Westin's, Marriot's, etc in the country, but these beds were just as comfortable as any of those nicer hotel beds. It was quiet despite being very full during the weekend. One little treasure that they have were old 90's/2000's DVDs in the main lobby with a DVD player you can borrow. We watched "Meet Joe Black" the first night we were there. The big trail system in Estes Park makes it possible to walk just about anywhere. We were able to easily walk to town with the trail system from the motel when we didn't feel like driving, which was a nice convenience. The pool and hot tub are a great attraction -- I'm just bummed we were too busy to use them! Also loved the sitting area/gazebos next to the pool. We would drink our coffee out there in the mornings. The A/C and fan controls worked well (I like to sleep super cold, so it's always a relief when an A/C system works well). Would...
