Do not waste your time eating here unless you like extremely rude customer service and oily food. Specifically talking about our female waitress/server that lied and messed up our order. The first lie was that she accused me of ordering The *crispy noodles combination when all I asked for was the fried noodles combination assuming it was regular stir fried type noodles. She took our order so fast and cut me off acting like she knew exactly what I wanted. This CRISPY fried noodles plate that arrived looked completely flavorless and was basically just HARD uncooked ramen. Instead of accepting her mistake she decided to argue back at me that the crispy noodles WAS exactly what I asked for and wanted. I was so upset I said just take it away I'd rather not eat and I lost my appetite. She proceeded to YELL out loud & call someone else to resolve the situation instead of just kindly exchanging my plate for the stir-fried noodles I thought I ordered. This lady caused so much unnecessary attention, everyone at the restaurant was staring and made me so uncomfortable I cried. They also got my husbands beer wrong. He asked for Sapporo and got a completely different beer. The waitress said not to worry for the mistake that they will comp the drink and she just left quickly again. She did NOT offer to exchange the wrong beer, she just left it there and did not come back at all while we ate so my husband drank it considering he had nothing else to drink and not once did they offer to refill our empty water cups. That wrong beer was salty and not what he wanted at all with his meal but since no one came with the right one, he drank it. That was the waitress' second lie, even though she told us that the Sapporo would be comped, it was charged on the check and ALL the other servers that gathered AGAIN to make a scene, believed her lie. They agreed that since he drank the WRONG beer it HAD to be charged. She lied in front of the other servers and owner that my husband supposedly said it was "fine" and he wanted to keep the wrong drink, which he did NOT. Also, his pho soup was extremely oily he could not even finish his plate. We have been to many restaurants for Pho and Ramen which he ALWAYS manages to finish no matter how big the bowl is.. We eat out frequently at the Eden Center and have NEVER had this many issues at ANY restaurant. We will not be recommending anyone to eat here after even the owners or managers decided to go along with whatever the servers said. They will talk loud over you, stare at you, and just make the customer feel bad. My family owns a restaurant business as well and we know that this was just completely unacceptable. There is no excuse for this horrible...

ย ย ย Read moreAfter wrapping up guitar lessons, I like to treat myself to something new across the street at Eden Center. This week's adventure led me to Huong Viet - and with all the Washingtonian awards lining the wall, I had a good feeling I was in for something special.
Heads up: It's cash only. If you forget, you can pay via Zelle. In my case, that didn't go through. Thankfully, there's an ATM just a few steps away. Exit the restaurant, turn left, and walk to the end of the strip. Despite the hiccup, the staff was patient and kind while I figured things out. Service here was very good. Attentive, welcoming and never rushed.
To drink I ordered the lychee smoothie. Instead of boba, I'm pretty sure it had actual lychee balls at the bottom. It was on the sweeter side, so next time I'll ask for less sugar. Overall it hit the spot.
I kicked off with the crispy spring rolls. Not the healthiest option, but absolutely worth it. Packed with ground pork, crab, and shrimp, they were perfectly friend and bursting with flavor. A solid roll.
Next up were the fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce. These were light, refreshing, and balanced out the crispy indulgence nicely.
For my main, I went with the Shaky Beef. The manager gave me a tip: Dip each bite in a bit of scratch and make sure to scoop up the veggies with the beef. The combination was delicious. The beef cubes were thick, tender, and full of flavor. The veggies and rice rounded out the dish beautifully.
Eden Center has no shortage of great spots, but Huong Viet definitely stands out. Ill be back.. and next time, I won't forget...
