I used to really REALLY enjoy this place (was here 2-3x a week). The food is good and it's close to my job. The Athenian burger is my favorite 👌. I used to go all the time but unfortunately, the last few times I have gone I can tell they're skimping on portions (not as many fries, smaller cup sizes for To-go orders), and keep in mind the burger + fries, drink + tax is $18. It's delicious, don't get me wrong, but due to the skimping on portions for $18, I don't go as often. Last time (a few weeks ago) the fries weren't even that good (they looked like they came from the bottom of the pan), which was odd and had never happened before. I swear it's usually really good here, always. Or it was, I haven't been back since then. Before when the portions were better, $18 was truly not a big deal. I was happy to spend it. Now it feels like I'm paying $18 for just a burger, a little bit of fries, and a small drink that I can't refill because it's for To-go 🫤. Not sure how that's fair, and their online ordering system doesn't give the option to pick a larger drink (it used to). So...It doesn't really balance out for me anymore and there's too many other places in the area to stick with Great Greek for the convenience of them being so close to my job. STILL- come here and eat. Enjoy, it's really good. I'm not bashing the establishment, just the changes. Because of that, it's no longer a place I go to as much for lunch, no matter how much I actually...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill, and the experience was truly outstanding. Upon arrival, we were greeted with genuine warmth by the owner, who I later discovered is from Libya. As an Egyptian, I immediately felt a special connection, and his hospitality made us feel like honored guests.

Read moreI recently stopped by The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill in Falls Church, VA, and I can confidently say this place is a true gem for Greek cuisine lovers. They also serve halal as well! The meal was absolutely fantastic, starting with the star of the show: their Chicken Gyro. It was nothing short of amazing! The chicken was grilled and seasoned perfectly, offering a great flavor profile, and the pita was warm and soft—the ideal vessel for the creamy tzatziki, fresh tomatoes, and onions. It was the kind of authentic, flavorful gyro that instantly makes a restaurant a favorite. To complement the sandwich, we ordered the Feta Fries, and they were equally great. The combination of hot, crispy fries generously topped with salty, crumbled feta cheese is simple, yet highly addictive. It elevates a typical side dish into something truly memorable and makes for a fantastic shared appetizer. Between the exceptional quality of the chicken gyro and the satisfying feta fries, The Great Greek has definitely earned a spot on my rotation. I noticed they also feature an Athenian Burger on the menu, and the intrigue of a Greek-inspired burger is enough to guarantee a speedy return visit. If the rest of the menu is anywhere near as good as what I've tried so far, I have no doubt it'll be another hit....
