My wife and I stayed in cottage #12, Columbine, for three nights in August 2024. This was our first time staying at Rockmount and we were absolutely impressed with the location, overall accommodations and customer service from Barb. When we arrived, she was so friendly and informative regarding the property and amenities. Leading up to our trip she was so helpful with reservations when we were deciding which cabin to rent, as I have a pickup and motorcycle trailer. She was spot-on with recommending the Columbine unit, as it is located at the back of the property, literally on the Big Thompson River and backs up to a mountain cliff. Looking out the bedroom and living room windows you’re literally looking at (and listening to) the river which is maybe 25 feet away. There was room for me to park my trailer and truck separately without bothering other guests or taking up additional parking stalls. This is a one-bedroom unit perfect for two adults, with a nice sized kitchen, very well-lit bathroom and partially covered deck out front. I’d say this is the most secluded cottage on the property, therefore very quiet. The entire property is exceptionally clean and well-maintained. Additionally, there is an Estes Park shuttle bus that stops regularly at the front entrance of the property, taking folks downtown for free. There is constant wildlife presence including Deer, Elk, and Chipmunks galore. We are currently discussing making reservations for next year based on our wonderful experience, and we’ll likely make this an...
Read moreThis is our 3rd year staying at Rockmount and it will be our last. We were so happy with our first couple of experiences that we brought our whole family up (6 cabins). Each family had 2-3 children and all were having the time of their life. We even rented the cabins in the very back of the property to accomodate a larger family dinner get togethers.. etc but were met with very unwelcoming staff. One staff member came out and reprimended my husband (60 year old) for dropping pinecones in the river. A second reprimand came with daddies and son's were working on skipping rocks in the river, they were told "NO throwing Rocks". There reason they gave was it could kill the fish! There are NO signs warning guest to not skip rocks in the river. The BBQ grill that is available for public use has been broken and without a wheel for the past two seasons. Prices have increased dramatically and with that you'd think that the property managers would at least repair this grill for safety. One cabin had no hot water for showers, second cabin had no running water in the kitchen sink and had to be repaired during the visit. Cabins were not stalked properly with toilet paper. I believe the unfriendliness that we were met with was due to the young children and for that I would suggest if you stay at Rockmount, don't bring young boys or children that make any noise.... the property should consider becoming "adults only" so that they remain friendly to the guests. Too bad :( I guess COVID has made this...
Read moreBarb & Holly made reservations very easy and always called me back when I had questions prior to arrival. The cabin my husband & I stayed in was clean & perfect for 2; however next time if I stay in #7, I’d take something to cover the bedroom window. The headlights from cars on the highway came in to that cabin. The others along the river did not. All 3 cabins I was in had well equipped kitchens. This was a great place for family gatherings. All the cabins were close enough to walk to & were private. |The front & back porches on the larger one were perfect! We enjoyed them immensely. We did bring extra lawn chairs so everyone could sit. |There was a game room stocked with games & puzzles and a community fire pit with benches & rocks to sit on. They also had sticks for roasting available which made it very nice. A beautiful river was right by some of the cabins with benches and chairs along it to sit & enjoy the sounds of nature. It’s located less than 5 minutes from the National Park entrance and close enough to downtown. We weren’t in the cabin during the day, we hiked, shopped & enjoyed the outdoors while we could escape the TX heat & hurricane! |This is a beautiful & peaceful place to stay. It doesn’t have A/C however they provided fans and with open windows & in the evenings it cooled off! Just close the blinds when you leave to keep sun out & cabin cool! |I’d recommend it to anyone & one day I’ll be back! My parents & sister have come here for years. Thanks Holly & Barb for making us...
