We've stayed here twice in the past 4 years. Loved it! It's located out of town, closer to the mountains / mountain activities you are likely interested in, which means, you don't have to spend time getting out of the traffic in town to go up to Rocky Mountain National Park. The condos are great! Super clean, well kept- and modern. Cozy and refreshing is how I'd describe the units. There's a nice swimming pool, they let you borrow bikes (these are beater bikes, but you can find one that works and tool around the neighborhood, get donuts or booze within biking dist...) One of the greatest things is the $3 all you can eat waffle breakfast on Sundays.. a bargain at twice the price, these were the best waffles I've ever had. They're made fresh... Truly. These rank #1.
The staff get a 10/10 for being nice, helpful, friendly, and accommodating as well as informative.
The other guests / residents have been courteous, friendly, and respectful. Overall, the place is fairly quiet-no kids screaming before 10 or 11 am, nothing audible from neighbors after 10 pm-ish, no body was observed to be obnoxious in any way, and as amplified music is discouraged and prohibited after certain hours, I never had to contend with this (not that it would have been a huge issue for me as I love music and I'm a night owl, but it was nice to see people behaving appropriately and respectfully for a change)
Parking is abundant. LOW crime neighborhood- they don't even lock the loaner bikes up (tho if you do rent bikes, prudence would dictate locking these up with you inside at night). We rarely locked the unit in our absence when hiking, etc. and had no issues. I'm not recommending this, just saying that it feels very safe and is very safe.
I would definitely stay here again if we visit Estes Park again,...
Read moreOn a recent trip to Rocky Mountain National Park. We were looking for a place for two couples to spend 3 nights. At first we opted for a hotel in Estes Park. After, checking out other options we found Rams Horn Village Resort. We found it cost us a lot less than booking two hotel rooms. The resort is near the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park, which made it very convenient. Plus it was only a short 2 mile ride, if we wanted to go into Estes Park.
The unit we had, had ample room. We had two bedrooms, 2 baths, living room, dinette and kitchen. The beds were very comfortable with great linens. Bathrooms had good water pressure and soft towels. It also had great wifi, which is a plus in this area. There was a tv in the living room and each of the bedrooms. There was a pool and numerous hot tubs throughout the property. We found the property and condo to be very clean with all the conveniences we needed. One day we even found a slow cooker, went to the store and made a great stew. After a day of hiking it was nice to come back to dinner ready. Then we just relaxed with the warmth of the fireplace. The staff was also very helpful, with any issues, directions or recommendations we needed. There were also a a few bars and restaurants a short walk away.
We would definitely recommend Rams Horn Village Resort to family and friends. The scenery...
Read moreI am here at the Ram's Head Resort and decided to write a review before I forget all of the great details that make this place feel like a family camp. The owners are on site and they go out of their way to answer questions we have about the area, including where to get reasonably priced, good wine or where to hike. Their wine and cheese reception really surprised me with its fresh vegetables, cooked appetizers and crackers. The owners were there to talk to people, which made it feel like a party. Dotted around the grounds are hammocks, volleyball nets, croquet equipment, bikes, etc. It feels like a place where families are welcome. Little details like cookies when we arrive make such a difference. I also enjoy picking up a book in the lounge area where there are a plethora of movies, games, books, etc. The pool is a place where my daughter and her cousin are able to meet other kids. I like to cook while I am traveling because it is healthier, and the kitchen is well-stocked, and a nice grocery store is nearby. The grocery store alone feels like Colorado, and it has all of the nice things we need. On top of it all, it is near the most incredible hiking imaginable, and there are reputable horseback riding companies within 17 minutes from this area. I just call the front desk when I need anything, and they are...
