After the nightmare at America's Best Value Inn requiring a 2nd parametic visit, the police & county health both said: Move, NOW!
The River Inn, just down the street, looked nice enough but looks are deceiving. We checked the beds 1st & found a dead bed bug under the bed spread & reported it immediately, but the Indian son of the owner's barely acknowledged me (I'm a 57 woman.) We had to wash & dry everything in hot b4 unpacking but I found about a dz dead scabies in the washer. Again ignored I was forced to clean the laundry room & machines myself, needing bleach & a tool box. The inside dryer lint cover taken off showed the whole story, had to be cleaned out, along with the outdoor vent's iced up lint clog.
Exhausted & needing sleep had to wait. They don't provide blankets nor directions to a 24 hr Wal-Mart. They don't provide room service. You are allowed 1 tiny roll of TP at a time. No new clean linen or towels allowed until every piece from b4 were turned in, cigarette burns, stains, holes incl'd. Half the time they didn't fit & never matched (beds are full XL size.) Many times we were given used, dirty linen.
No matter how many treatments I rec'd (14) or doctors (4) or hospitals (3,) my paracite infection was getting worse. We cleaned every inch of that room 3 times during treatments to no avail. It was finally discovered the washer's hot was set to warm & the hotel's fancy vacuum barely lifted a thing due to an ancient clogged filter. 4 months of enormous pain & expenses, very dangerous highly toxic drugs prescribed multiple times, all for only $350/wk. That is "The River Inn."
2 weeks ago I slipped and fell on a solid ice patch going to my room from the office. Forehead, nose, front teeth, and badly cut & bruised knee later, it was decided it's all my fault. They refused to give any insurance info or take any responsibility. Upon return from the hospital we were locked out of our room!
I hope and pray these words help someone else to avoid this establishment. No one deserves what we've been through.

Read moreThe rooms were cobbled together, some of the maintenance and repairs were hilarious, you had absolutely no control over the heating or air conditioning, the shower had no water pressure, and very little flow, the television was miniscule and you could barely hear the speaker, the worst thing was that there was absolutely no security lock on the door, you could actually push it open with minimal force once it was locked, the other patrons were loud and unruly every single night and nobody was there to tell them to quiet down and mind the other customers... But it was inexpensive, so I guess that you get what you pay for... If you're looking for some place to rent for a half an hour, this place is cheap.. If you're looking for some place to spend a couple nights, you could do...

Place is literally falling apart, I dont see any repairs or remodeling being done at all. Thr chair that is in the room was broken on the arm, I used our own blankets and pillows, the beds looked gross. The bathroom tile had so much grime on it and nasty black stuff all around the tub. I ended up finding another hotel down the road to stay in and it was cheaper and way nicer and clean. I DO NOT recommend this. If your looking for cheap and clean go to the one down road in Barrington it's also $10 cheaper...
