If you’re looking for a hotel experience that will haunt your dreams, welcome to The House of Disappointment! The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the faint scent of sadness and cleaning products that almost covered whatever had happened there in 2007. The décor could best be described as “crime scene chic.” The carpet looked like it’s seen more action than the front desk staff, and speaking of that—every employee I met had the enthusiasm of a potato on its lunch break. Now, the highlight of my stay: while trying to plug in my phone charger, I bent down and found a surprise souvenir under the bed. Not a mint. Not a sock. Nope—something battery-powered that definitely didn’t come with the room key. I don’t know what kind of “hospitality” this hotel is offering, but I didn’t realize “adult scavenger hunt” was part of the amenities. I called the front desk, and they acted like I’d just told them the weather. “Oh,” they said, “that happens sometimes.” That happens sometimes? What in the unsupervised sleepover is going on here?! The bed was about as soft as a park bench, and the pillows looked like they were filled with crushed hopes. The continental breakfast consisted of a sad bagel and coffee that tasted like burnt rubber and regret. Overall, I’d give this place negative stars if I could. If you want an adventure, sure—stay here. But bring your own disinfectant, holy water, and possibly a therapist. Would I come back? Only if I lost a bet or needed material for a stand-up routine.

I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN. This was NOT a hotel stay. This was a public health hazard with walls. The second I opened the door, I was greeted by a stench so foul it should’ve come with a biohazard warning. It smelled like a FUNERAL HOME that got lost in a NURSING HOME and died there. The sheets? COVERED. IN. STAINS. Not one or two — we’re talking a full-on POLKA DOT PATTERN of filth. Brown, red, and something unidentifiable that I’m pretty sure moved when I blinked. Whoever is in charge of housekeeping needs to be re-trained, re-hired, and possibly re-baptized. But the real kicker — and I can’t even believe I’m typing this — was what we found UNDER the bed. A “device.” A BATTERY-POWERED “THING.”(a VIBRATOR and a NOSE trimmer) Something NO ONE should ever have to explain to others while trying to warn them to NOT stay here! We are TRAUMATIZED. I want to call a priest. I have NEVER been so disgusted, and I have raised toddlers. This place needs to be INSPECTED, DISINFECTED, and then DEMOLISHED. I expect a FULL refund, a written apology, and honestly? Therapy wouldn’t hurt either.

Upon arrival, noticed construction which tells me there's going to be a mess from that. I'm willing to allow for that. Check is was at 3pm, we arrived about 6ish. Received our room key, opened the door to a mess, the room was not ready, the clerk remedied the situation, as quickly as possible by giving us another room. The entire establishment could use a through cleaning, our room was no exception. It felt like the room was thrown togather there was white towel lint all over the brown bed spread, which atomatically makes the room feel off. There is dirt in every corner of the room. There was some stuff I don't know what, under the sink. There was some kind of yuck on the lamp. And the following morning we woken up.to find a milipede in the spa tub. I wish this place was a bit cleaner. Bed was comfortable, and the rooms were quiet. I have provided pictures of all of the questionable stuff they don't seem to be showing up in the reviews. I will post them on Yelp and any other site that allows reviews. The bug, the dirt , and nastiness on the lamp.

This was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever had. We arrive on a Saturday after around 4 pm. The parking lot is barely plowed, the majority of the snow piled in the handicap spots. My father in law is handicap and had to walk with guidance arose the parking lot far across the building on the slick ice covered parking lot. We check in, are charged a deposit even though we paid and booked online. The hotel room, very outdated. Furniture all chipping. Phone and radio not plugged in, phone didn’t even have cords. Hair dryer didn’t work. One lamp worked, other lamps didn’t have bulbs, didn’t turn on or flickered. Blankets and sheets were stained and the bed was very old. TV was very small and channel quality on most channels were fuzzy. It was so unbelievably hot that turning the air one and down to 61 still had us sweating and up all night. I was tempted to open the window but we were on the first floor and a person kept making laps around the building. We stayed on the first floor and from 9-11:30pm some kids were running from the room across the hall to the gym and slamming the doors, while kids above us kept running from door to window for house. Our phone wasn’t hooked up so I had to google the number, call the desk. The woman who answered was very nice, she said she would call them to be quiet. Hopefully there phones worked, another 45 minutes of hearing the running on the ceiling and they finally stopped. The next morning, we get up to get ready, water won’t stay warm, hair dryer didn’t work and my mother in law didn’t bring her own because we saw in pictures they had one in the bathroom. We go to breakfast. Milk was a open gallon on the counter, eggs, no fruit, no meat and after the way the whole stay went my family didn’t feel comfortable eating there. There was rarely someone at the front desk. We got to check out, the guy running around the building was the guy working the desk, in street clothes. Safe to say we will not be staying here and my MIL who booking the hotel will be reaching out again today to speak...

Can't believe this is a Wyndham property I found through their app and my credit card with them. I've cancelled our Wyndham reservations next weekend after this stay. ||Walking in, the room had a dead bug in the bathtub, on the table, on the window AC and on the counter. Layers of dust on the hairdryer and toilet paper holder, wall trims had cobwebs, mold in the bathtub caulk, crumbs on any area of carpet that had furniture over it, and "sticky" inside the nightstand drawer. Woke up at 5am to the sound of water pouring in from the window and AC and had 2 inches of water already in that corner of the room. Went to the front desk to tell them- he asked "Do you want a room upstairs for the second night" so I said sure. He literally said to me "It will be no additional cost". Ha- it wasn't even an upgraded room, although I will say cleaner than the first room but it had a toilet that dripped nonstop! Then I proceeded to walk back to my room to hear the couple's argument across the way had now turned into a full domestic and my 70 year old mother was grabbing the girl and screaming to the guy while we waited for the police to arrive- no hotel employee came down despite me telling him I was concerned for the safety of the people across from me when I complained about the flooding. We spent an hour waiting for the police to take our reports before being able to move rooms and then ended up being an hour late to our event. Not that this is the hotels fault- but when we went for breakfast after all that- my daughter said the waffles tasted like wet sourdough and didn't even cook even though she only filled it halfway. The apple juice I took tasted like 1 part concentrate to 100 parts water. Needless to say, breakfast was not consumed on either day of our stay. No credit was offered...

Summer 2018 during a stay with my husband to pick up our college student son for vacation at Pigeon Forge ,with several dear friends. I was bed bug bitten on several parts of my body. At 3:30 am I awake to burning sensation. I look in the mirror and a huge whelp is on my cheek. The bumps were on shoulder, elbow ,hip waist.I pulled covers back and captured 2 bed bugs . Perhaps there were more. I put those 2 in a glass of water. The night manager told me ,after seeing me frantic about this, "we take this very seriously. I know the owner will want to adress this." I was so shocked and out of my head with disgust I let them comp. me for the room. We had the real fear we were not going to leave without these nightmare insects coming with us. I made videos and photos. But the owner made us wait til 10 am to see him! He promised us significant discount savings at any upcoming stays. My son just had family weekend March 2019. I made my reservation but when I got there we were refused any discount! I wanted to spend time with my son and his friends as this was a once a year celebration. But I called Windham headquarters and talked to them for over an hour. They said my case was closed on their end. They said they were not responsible. It was up to property owner. I tried to talk to owner on phone twice. Desk clerk said " he's busy". I asked if he would come to the property to speak with me and my husband. Once again the desk clerk said, I said" he is busy." Maybe he is too busy for more Franklin College Parents as guests. I contacted Dean Ellis Hall there at my sons school. Perhaps someone will...
