Culver’s — Restaurant in Franklin

I ordered a tenderloin basket with cheese curds and a root beer as well as a thing of pretzel bites. I was told to pull around to the widow. After pulling to the window I was asked my name and I confirmed the order with the young lady at the window. Upon handing her my card she handed me my drink which I noticed was luke warm. I then asked her if I could get ice in my drink and was then told for the first time in my experience that they did not have ice at the store. I was okay with them not having ice but not okay with not being told so either prior to ordering, while ordering, or prior to payment, she had just handed me the drink without saying a word. If I was told at some point earlier during the transaction I would have just switched to a prepackaged drink that would be cold. After she said there was no ice I proceeded to ask if the drink could be taken off my order. She called for her manager and after about a minute or so the manager opened the window and said "I can give you your money back for the drink but it will only be $0.62" he did not apologize at all during the experience and neither did the crew member, I don't fault the crew member for this but I do the manager. I do not believe that whatever the refund would be I should be talked to like I am a nuisance because of something that happened that was completely not my fault and could have been easily been avoided. I believe that this manager should be spoken to about how to deal with issues with customers as well as the team members and managers should be trained on what to do when they are out of something that will control the guest experience. This place is wonderful if you go early in the day like around 11am. Hot food, very short wait time, and everything is fresh and delicious. BUT, if you go after 5pm and there is a very long line at the drive thru.. you wait forever for good that is not hot, not flavorful, and seems like it was precooked and prepared ahead of time for easier service when they are so busy. If you go inside instead you could easily get stuck in your car trying to leave the parking lot when the drive thru line wraps around the building and RUDELY stops right behind all the parked cars so they can't back up to leave and they won't leave a space for you to get out. Worst design for the drive thru line I've ever seen. There is no where else for them to line up but behind all of the cars of the folks inside. It's a nightmare. So you wait 20 to 30 minutes in a drive thru line knowing your food has a less than 20% chance of being hot and fresh. Go in the morning when they open, though, and you'll get the BEST juiciest burger anywhere and fries to match. It's too bad they can't do that at dinner time. I'll be there before noon but I'll never go after 5pm again unless it's MUCH less busy and packed or they change that drive thru line design and i can get hot food inside or send it back and then get out of the parking lot without the 20 minute wait for a decent person to let me out. Go in the morning and you'll be amazed at the good food and service but don't get hooked because the evening stuff could just as easily be McDonald's...

I went the other day to pick up food for my family. It's hard for me to write a review like this for people that are really nice-- staff that I interacted with was kind, but I had an online order and went there at the proper pick up time and when I got there there were cars starting to back up in the drive thru. I sat there and watched all of them-- including ones that showed up after me--all had their food brought out to them as I sat there and waited. Even another online order that showed up after me. Once all the cars cleared out 15 minutes later then they brought my food. This was as I was getting out of the vehicle to head inside to check on my order.

I'd love to say it was worth waiting for but honestly I was disappointed. The burgers were dry and not great. My son refused to eat it. And I don't blame him. I had one too but mine wasn't as bad with all the stuff on it--though it was missing a topping. I was also given the wrong drink...

...but the cheese curds were really good. And my husband said he liked his spicy chicken sandwich--it was pretty good and the onion rings too.

Probably won't be going back for burgers. It's a shame because I remembered them being better.

People and atmosphere good, but food? Might have just been a bad night or something? This will just not be out option likely in the future--probably here just for the cheese curds or...
