I gave it one star because it wouldn't let me enter a negative star rating. I picked this hotel out of necessity we were traveling with dogs and it was late so i didnt have many options. I looked at the reviews on travelocity which made the hotel sound pretty nice but the reviews had to be from bots. The hotel lobby after hours is closed and business is done through a drawer behind bullet proof glass. I looked up the area after seeing that and found that Gadsen is ranked the 87th most dangerous city in the US! It was late and i was tired so i decided to givebit a chance. I tried 3 rooms before aski g for a refund. First room smelled like an ash tray. Second room was filthy and looked like someone had trimmed their "body" hair in the bathroom. Third room was actually clean other than a few dead bugs in the toilet. It was really hot so i turned on the AC and it made a popping noise and turned off and would not turn back on. When i went back to the bullet proof window to get a refund the employee rolled her eyes and said what now? The employee was obviously upset with me because i was not happy with any of the rooms.
To say a couple of good things i noticed(to be fair). The rooms looked like they had been remodeled recently. The rooms had laminate flooring and decent looking bed spreads. My son laid on the bed but he doesn't remeber if it was comfortable or not. Also, the pool looked pretty nice. Also, there was plenty of parking im guessing its because of the things i...
Read moreUpdate Been a week still have not received a refund, surely needles and illicit drugs warrant a refund? The property managers have been unavailable for cooperate to speak, ignored my email and have not resolved the said issues. But hey I did received a cookie cutter apology email thanking me for my feedback….
Found a drug baggie and a hypodermic needle with something in it under our mattress in the handicap accessible room… let that sink in. In the next room I had to stay up late to wash the bedding. Found dog and cat toys, plates, cups, wrappers and about 6 months worth of dust under the bed.
The next morning when we asked to be compensated because of the circumstances and absolutely deplorable condition we were told if we didn’t like the level of cleanliness we could leave. We were then accused of trashing the needle room. Their employee on night duty was made aware of our circumstances and told the room was left open for her. Frankly we didn’t know how they wanted to handle things.
This wasn’t just lazy staff or poor management, this was negligent and dangerous. My husband has a service dog because of his seizure disorder god forbid if it was her that found the drugs and needle not us. Who knows what’s on their floors certainly not the staff. What was supposed to be a fun way of getting laundry done turned into an...
Read moreWe had to live there for 6 months so this is my honest opinion. The owners for the most part are great. The housekeeping staff there is ok. Jennifer is the best! They cleaned my room maybe 6 times in 6 months. When we got there the floors were dirty. Some housekeepers seem to rush threw cleaning while others clean thoroughly. They complained if I wanted clean sheets everyday and I didn't like that. I had toddlers in the room with me so I needed to change sheets more often. The front desk staff for the most part was great but the good ones left. The new ones seem a bit lost sometimes. The ducks are awesome. The pool is great for kids. It's only 5ft deep. Now for the bad part....the clientele. A lot of rough people stay here. One night a man screamed and yelled all night long. Lot of druggie people run threw there. One night the police woke us up and we had to evacuate because a guy had bomb making material in his room...the bomb squad came out. Police seem to show up a good bit. And not too long ago someone was stabbed and blood was everywhere down a walkway. I know it's not the owners fault who chooses to stay there. It's not a good family oriented place...
