We've been to this park more than once and I don't plan to return. There are too many reasons to list but I'll try:||1) There are NO street lights in this huge park. It's pitch black after dark and dangerous to drive because children are everywhere after dark; they start their nightly movies at 8PM & pools are open to 9:45. Children on scooters and bicycles pay no attention to anyone. It's very dangerous with no street lights.||2) The STOP letters on the pavement need repainting, almost not visible. Dangerous driving conditions, night and day.||3) The office building has a breezeway of sorts that is highly confusing and not well-lit at night. I fell down two steps during our recent visit because I couldn't see the steps. When I called the office to ask for more lighting, the man didn't even ask how I was, nor express his concerns. Just said, OH, the light is out. Seriously. I'm 67 and it could have done lots of damage. I was with my granddaughter and it scared her so bad she dropped to the pavement crying because she was worried I had really hurt myself. My foot was sore the next two days. Thankfully, nothing serious. This breezeway area is so confusing and there is no signage that points clearly to a RAMP for getting to the office/laundry/restrooms on the 2nd floor, so you don't have to use the stairs.||4) This park is very out-dated. Everything looks old and not very clean, if you look close. ||5) No rules seem to apply. Pools have signs that clearly say "Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult," but there is no enforcement. People are out playing putt-putt golf at all hours of the night.||6) If you have issues during your stay, and you call the phone number, you will not hear an option for GUESTS, only options for "reservations" or "hours of operation." This tells me that the owners are not interested in customer service during your stay; they are only interested in new business. You can select "reservations" to reach the office, but it should be clearly stated in the phone message.||7) The office staff are more interested in booking more people than they are in taking care of on-site campers. I stood in the office one day, along with four other individuals, while three staff members stared at their computers and never looked up to say, "We'll be with you shortly." Finally, I said, "I just need to buy some ice. Can anyone help me?" At that time, two of them jumped up. This is not acceptable.||8) Signage is almost non-existent here. Yes, you get a map of the place, but why not add bright and bold signage in a park this size? Signage for the multiple restrooms/laundry/pools, signage for the lazy river and putt-putt area. It's all very needed. No excuse to not try harder for your guests who pay a lot of money to stay here.||Even though this place has activities for families, there are too many reasons not to return...
Read moreOver the last few years, we've come here during summer months. I guess I keep hoping things will be different but after this visit, I've given up hope. Before you come , here are some things to consider:||1) There are NO street lights in this HUGE park. It's pitch black after dark, like pitch black! I needed to leave the park one night and nearly had a panic attack trying to navigate through the darkness. Finally, I made it to the office area and left my car and walked back to the RV, using a flashlight to find my way. I said forget it. I was so rattled by the lack of light and the children running around in the dark. It's so dangerous to drive because children are everywhere, even after dark. They start their nightly movies at 8PM & pools are open until 10:00 PM. Children on scooters and bicycles fly down the lanes and pay no attention to anyone, even though the "Rules" say all children must be attended by an adult at all times, which is a real joke. Why are there NO street lights here? I'm sincerely asking the owners of this place why are there no street lights? You make plenty of money. Why? This is not acceptable.||2) On our second day there this year, I was driving from the office to our RV when all of a sudden, out of the blue, a young kid driving an electric scooter very fast came within inches of plowing into my driver's door. The red STOP letters on the pavement need repainting, probably every single year. They are almost not visible, but children pay no attention to them anyway. This place is really a tragedy waiting to happen, night or day.||3) The office/breezeway area is so confusing and there is no signage that points clearly to a RAMP for getting to the office/laundry/restrooms on the 2nd floor, so you don't have to use the stairs. This is not acceptable.||4) This park needs some updating and TLC. Everything looks old and worn out. ||5) I can't express enough how there seem to be NO RULES at this park. Pools have signs that clearly say "Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult," but there is no enforcement! Children of every age are at every pool. In addition, very young children (like under six) are out driving like maniacs on their scooters and bikes, with no parent in sight, although the "rules" state this is against the rules. No enforcement whatsoever. What a joke. I've stayed here several times and I've never, ever seen anyone from the office driving around on a golf-cart, observing. Never!||6) The oleander shrubs are in desperate need of pruning and cutting back. They are so overgrown that you cannot see around them and some are even overflowing into the narrow lanes of traffic. These hinder the line-of-sight for drivers and are a hazard. It seems a lack of care, or just plain lazy. ||Even though this place has activities for families, there are more reasons NOT to return...
Read moreWhat’s done GOOD: -The amenities are decent. There are plenty of options for the whole family. The lazy river is more river than lazy, but it is nice, and most people brought their own floats, which was good and bad, depending upon the float size. Also, many people brought their own tents and set ups for the lazy river area, which was pretty cool and it set up some nice shade on hot days. Also, the cabanas were a nice option for those who wanted them. The Beach/Tiki pool was our favorite because it wasn’t too deep and the kids liked to play in it. The mini golf is one of the better RV resort courses that we’ve been to, but get your clubs early on the weekends!!! (Also, there are two large tortoises, and a bunch of babies in a pen on the course, which the kids LOVED). The splash pad area was not working during our time there, but we peeked and it seemed to need some major updating. -we were unable to charge our golf cart (the 110W do not work due to the proximity to salt water). Called the front office, within 30 minutes, the maintenance man was by with a 30A110W converter to loan us. -Right across from public beach access! -Not as commercial as the other RV resorts we’ve been, which gave a much more laidback vibe. People can bring their own ice chests, tents are set up everywhere -The bunnies!!! There are little jackrabbits everywhere and they’re simply the cutest little surprise. -Spoke with the owner briefly, super nice guy. -The older man in the red beater hatchback that blocked off traffic to help us get our rig out was awesome!
WHAT COULD BE BETTER: -No one monitoring who goes in and out, so many people not wearing bracelets, which is fine, personally we’re not the resort bracelet police, just something that we noticed. -We have a big rig, so pulling in on the left side was TIIIIIIGHT, will request a spot to the right side next time. -UPDATES/maintenance on current amenities. The amenities are nice, what doesn’t look nice is the tiles falling off the sides of the pools, the trash under the steps at every area, the littered tiki hut areas by the pools. -The bathrooms are all upstairs, above and opposite from the amenities… which is fine, until you have a five year old who is booking it up wooden stairs and tile floors to potty. -The office tells you a closing time, but it seems they close their register 10 minutes before, we weren’t able to get ice on our check in day due to that.
IN SUMMARY: We like the park, we will be back. Despite its need for maintenance on current amenities, its much more laid back than the more commercial parks where we feel like there are constantly employees around, probably because it does not have liquor/beer service, and therefore doesn’t need all of the additional workers...
