(Jump to the bottom to see the review of the room or read through my story for my horrible experience!)
I have stayed here several times and have never had a problem but I will never stay here again because of the owner. I have never met the owner till the last time I stayed here and never had a problem with any hotel employees or any customers ever! I had left my drivers license in a room that I had stayed in and simply wanted to be able to search the room once the guest had checked out. She told me that housekeeping had cleaned the room and would have found it. I told her they wouldn’t have because they do not ever clean under the bed or behind it. Mind you I found two television remotes and a bunch of loose items behind the bed when my wallet fell back there so I know this for a fact. I had to move the bed to be able to get it. She turned it into a big deal yelling at me saying she knows what she’s talking about and nothing can fit behind the bed (where my wallet fell) or under it (where my license was) and nothing has been found and to stop talking to her and she doesn’t have anything else to say to me and doesn’t care about my drivers license or me. I talked to another employee that same day after she left and they made it very simple for me to be able to check the room once the guest checked out and left it at that. A 15 second very simple and calm conversation and I was on my way. Then a few days later after staying there for about a week and a half she calls my room and wakes me out of my sleep at 10:55 am saying I need to check out (check out is at 11am) and I can’t stay there anymore because they have a policy saying guest can’t stay there longer than 2 weeks. I asked where is that policy at because I didn’t see it and nobody told me this at all till now and she told me “don’t worry about where it’s at. I’m telling you to leave” and hung the phone in my face. I put on my clothes and went to the front desk to ask her what is going on and before I could even say a word she told me I am not welcomed back and she is going to make sure because I ask too many questions and I should just do what she tells me. Then said that she is calling the cops to make sure I leave. What?!?! The manager is in her late 60’s, small Indian lady with glasses and is the rudest person ever and does not know the first thing about professionalism. She called the cops on 15 DIFFERENT people during my stay and argued with literally everybody! You can hear her yelling at people all the way in the room. about getting there deposit back, about getting a room key, about getting a wash cloth and several other things and she called the cops on these people over these conversations. All things that are easily accessible without her being there. I don’t think she’s getting any at home and brings all of her issues to work. I think the owners need to leave the work to employees and just be at home owners. Cons: You can hear everything going on in the next persons room and footsteps in the room above you and there are always couples arguing or having sex or having a party and you can hear everything! 2. There are always people coming through playing loud music at the apartment next door and you can hear everything. 3. The rooms look like they need to be cleaned. I actually went and grabbed the broom and mop and cleaned it myself. 4. The wash cloths and towels are dingy and look like old towels that you use for car wash rags. 5. They do not have any type of good TV. They only have the basic cable channels (about 15 channels) and that's it! No Netflix, no Hulu, no nothing else. 6. Parking is an extra $10 and you cannot have any guest. Pros: The room is very well designed and spacious and homey. It doesn’t feel like a hotel room it feels like a small studio. Shower pressure is well. The bathroom mirror light is nice. The bed is comfortable.
Nice place...
Read morePositives: Nice, clean, comfy and roomy hotel room❤️ Our room included: AC/fan, TV with table underneath that had nice sized drawers, 2 comfy Queen beds with lots of pillows, night table with lamp, small lounge chair with large lamp next to it, desk with lamp, fridge, small closet with a safe and cool lil bathroom🥰 Key card entry to the rooms.
I love that they had not only free coffee and tea with NON-DAIRY CREAMER, but they also had a cute little sparking water machine with Blueberry lime, Mango and Watermelon flavors!! It's located downstairs where the front desk and lobby are (which I love because they can tend to it faster and they keep it very clean🥰)
The microwave and ice machine are also located downstairs. Some ppl may see it as an inconvenience, but I met some really sweet guests just but going downstairs to get ice, etc (a mini-social moment). Everything is clean, I figure since it's close to the desk area, which is good!
Also, very sweet girl at the front desk (on our 1st day). I watched her handle some EXTREMELY unruly guests in a very kind professional manner as she waited for the police to kindly deal with them. Also, some guests near and above our room were EXTREMELY NOISY and RAMBUNCTIOUS to where we couldn't sleep or relax and the young lady made sure we were comfy and she handled it.
It's in a cool area with not a lotta traffic or police/ambulance sirens
Very nice-looking hotel!
Negatives: Security. For one, we had to pay $12/day for UNSECURED parking, but thank God i had a cool parking spot across from the desk, because I'd never park in the back! Looks sketchy, especially with some of the the guests who come there.
Secondly, besides no security guard, ppl can just walk in off the street and come into the lobby and/or get on the elevators! There should be a personal reservation code to enter the building and a key-card should be required to get on the elevators. I even saw an unhoused woman just walk freely into the lobby, during my stay.
Thirdly, there is a little air freshener machine in the hallways that sprays a scent (I guess evey couple of minutes?)... IT STANK SOOOO BAD, it gave me a headache; It was soooo strong and loud!! It wasn't natural, either. I feel if they're gonna do that, use eucalyptus, orange and/or lavender natural essential oils spays or somethin, cuz that stuff smell like cheap perfume🤢.
The tub water didn't go all the way down and we had to flush twice whenever we used the toilet. Small, but just thought I'd mention.
Lastly (even though it's not the hotel's fault), someone was smoking weed in the hallway this morning and we could smell it in out room 🤢. I feel like in order to discourage smoking at this NON-SMOKING HOTEL, guests should be charged $500 for the offense (and noisy ppl should be charged $500, too!!). Folks come here to relax, NOT to smell smoke and definitely NOT to hear loud music, arguing, yelling, running and stomping during their stay!! Respect others.
OVERALL, this hotel was great for the value and I wouldn't mind staying again, but I ONLY wanna stay on the top...
Read moreI really didn't want to leave a 1-star review, but given what happened and the fact that they didn't return my money, I need to. Here's the story:
I booked a room through Booking and chose a non-refundable option. It cost me $115 per night.
On the first day, I arrived at 1 a.m., checked in normally, and went to my room. The walls were as thin as paper. I could hear EVERYTHING everyone else was doing in their rooms. The people behind the wall, where my bed was, talked the whole night, stopping only when they checked out at 11 a.m. Everyone can do whatever they want in their rooms, but the lack of soundproofing in this hotel is insane.
On the second day, I managed to sleep a bit during the day. When it was time to eat, I went outside and realized...yeah, this neighborhood is bad. There were gunshots during the night and many homeless people and addicts around, so I ordered food to the hotel.
Second night, at 5 a.m., my boyfriend went downstairs for water. Ten minutes after he returned, someone started banging on the door, trying to break in. I checked through the peephole and saw a strange woman in black sunglasses. I thought she might be drunk and had mistaken the room, so I called the front desk. They said they would handle it. I think she heard me calling and ran away. Twenty minutes later, she came back, even angrier, and tried to break the door again. I called the front desk, but no one answered. My boyfriend said he saw her in the lobby when he was getting water, so she probably followed him. And then he rememebred he did saw her on the first day too. This was no mistake; she was targeting us. I checked the peephole again and saw the front desk woman trying to get this woman away from our door. THIS HOTEL DOESN'T HAVE SECURITY! I think they called the police because I heard them later.
There was no way I was staying at this place any longer. I asked them to return the payment for the next day (I was supposed to stay one more night). They said no problem. Then they said they couldn't do it until Booking called them and agreed to return it, so I needed to talk with them. I did. Booking said no, it's non-refundable. I explained that it was a traumatic experience and I was only asking for a return for the day I wasn't there. They agreed to refund me if I provided the full name and position of the person who agreed to the return. I called the hotel because I had already left, but they refused to give me the information.
Oh, I totally forgot—the smell in the whole building is throwing up level bad.
Really, stay away from that place. The only good thing there is the free...
