Comfort Suites Granbury — Hotel in Granbury

Wow! What an experience we had! We travel frequently and don't show loyalty to any specific lodging chain, but this was special. First, the staff...ALL the staff was wonderful, especially upon check-in. We arrived 3hrs before designated check-in and they cleaned a room so we would not be inconvenienced. We were on the 3rd floor and when we were walking to our room, we heard 2 dogs constantly barking from the room next to ours. We also heard people in the room so knew this was not a matter of loneliness or fear. Knowing that would potentially be a problem, we went back downstairs and explained the problem. They immediately upgraded us, moved us to a suite and apologized. They sent someone upstairs to remove the original problem. Our room was so well thought out for both the vacationer and the traveler on business. USB ports everywhere! Comfortable bed, different kinds of lighting, quick hot water, and a wonderful breakfast served each morning. I eat a very healthy diet and I had plenty each morning to choose from. My husband enjoys being on vacation - enough said! He too had plenty of less healthy options in which to choose. The dining room staff was friendly, talkative, and kept everything well stocked. We experienced several front desk employees through-out our stay. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and always accomodating. This was truly an enjoyable experience from beginning to end.

I think this might be my 3rd or 4th review - EVER! Just not my thing, but this was beyond any expectation. We will be return customers!

Things we LOVED:

Great, large room for a great price! It really fit our family, and we have many children. The food for breakfast was decent. If you don't like HFCS, bring your own honey. The waffles were decent! The indoor pool was really great! Fun all year round with that blessing!!

Things we DISLIKED:

The staff was ridiculous. The day shift lady was away from the desk a whole lot. A rather large, unkept and unfriendly gal who sauntered in slowly from smoking, even though she saw us the whole time, waiting on her. No smiles. Kinda feel sorry for her, but she really brought the entire atmosphere down.

Someone's boiled eggs were left in the mini fridge. Yuck! And, it stank! : /

The night staff was at least friendly, but we had to laugh! They were out of razors, so instead of just saying "sorry," they gave my husband a free comb and coffee packet, which he neither asked for nor needed, lol.

Still not sure if we'll stay here again. It seems the staff itself is the greatest downfall. Lazy for sure. From the cleaning crew overlooking BOILED EGGS in the fridge (so... what ELSE did they lazily overlook?? Ug.), to the smoking day staff sauntering in while we waited and not even smiling at us (we were smiling! We're happy people!), to not ordering basic toiletries to have on hand. I appreciated the comfy bed and new bed and bath linen. Basically, reserved and paid for three nights. We were in and out. I always put the do not disturb on my door. I needed no service and it's my room for the time.
Came back from errands and noticed the remote control was swapped out and some cable equipment. Really upset me that first they disregarded my do not disturb and secondly didn't leave a note reporting who and why someone was in my room. I brought it to the manager, Ashley's attention and was told they did have contractor that day doing cable work but they were not supposed to be in room with do not disturb or reserved. Management really tried to down play my concerns acted like no big deal .....gave me a sorry and offered 20 percent off next stay. Lastly since the front desk weren't aware they had changed cable equipment and remote in my room until I made them aware tells me the contractor who should of not entered my room did so and unaccompanied. I will never trust that my wishes will be respected again. If your a guest in my home and didn't want to be disturbed nor have anyone enter your room your request would be respected. I was a guest at Comfort Suites and they dropped the ball. Other than that it was a good location and met our needs. I really have my reservations about whether or not I book...
