Budget Inn- Greenville — Hotel in Greenville

This place does not even deserve a one star, it's old-rusty-dirty and the carpet I don't even need to talk about it, extremely dirty and I had to throw away my white socks because this carpet is so dirty that it leaves the bottom of my socks pitch black, I never walked bare foot on that carpet. I know you get what you pay for but at least decency is expected, housekeepers lying about service not rendered, in room phone dirty and not working, when we complained the response was :" I doubt it" instead of saying :" Ma'am I apologize for the inconvenience and will take care of that for you." not to mention dirty sheets and again " I doubt it" was the response; really unprofessional, ended up changing that dirty phone because we were right and having to change our own sheets for the very first time because room was not ready but ...really rude young man at the front desk receptionist, but I must say that the manager was the only one whom listened to my complaint and actually gave me an appropriate response. We rented the family room and was on the verge to leave due to room not being ready and the excuse was that they don't clean until 1 pm...hence we stayed in a dirty room, we had no choice and had came from a very long ride. The room smells horrible, mold in bathroom, build-up dust on ceiling and ceiling fans and so and so forth, the list is too long. THIS WHOLE PLACE NEEDS TO BE TEAR DOWN AND REDONE. We were very dissatisfied and I wished I would have done my research before going to this place. What I noticed though on most of the reviews, administration only recognizes the positive comment and does not even acknowledge any negative comment, this mean whomever is in charge is not ready for improvement. If it was possible, I would rate this place a zero!! The refrigerator was not working and neither was the air conditioner. When we called the owner to the room, he came in with an attitude and went to the fridge where nothing was cold and told us it was working. He then went to the ac and turned on the fan only option and tried to say that was working too. The cooling option was not working, which is completely different from the fan only option. The room also had a very intense urine smell. We went to the front to let the owner know everything still wasnt working even though he said it was, and he got very aggravated and told us, in a hard to understand indian accent, that if we can have all the lights on in the room and they are working then the fridge and ac are working as well and that it was just us. We turned the fridge on extra cold and have been here for three days and everything is still melted, watery, and not cold at all. His wife told us that they have a switch box that controls all the separate electrical units in each room and that he might have turned it off "accidentally". We believe he is "annoyed" with our complaints and did it purposely. His behavior with us brings us to beleive this. My boyfriend and I are both 19, while he is an older man, and it is clear that he is thinking little of us, almost like he is thinking we are young and dumb and dont deserve respect. Room 103 - 2 night stay. Was told upon booking only 2 rooms left to book... We were 1 of 6 rooms that stayed for the weekend. No breakfast, no pool as advertised. The room smelled horribly of mildew (used an entire bottle of perfume and 2 kinds of air freshener and never got rid of the smell..) the bath tub filled full of water while showering everytime and took 15 minutes to drain. The TV was from 30 years ago, no TV Guide... We had to search through the channels which channel arrangement was random and the remote only worked with volume an pushing each number (no up down channel usage). I took the trash to the office and asked for more bags which he gave me but told me to walk the trash across the parking lot to the dumpster. The room overall was run down... No money is put back into this hotel.. Don't count on customer service.... will never stay...
