I’ve put off writing this review for a bit. I was quite upset. Let me preface by saying I have worked in hotels for 5 years and have traveled a bit during and after Covid as well. I understand hospitality and when things aren’t 100%, but I was more than put off by our stay.

Check in was fine. We got keys and took the luggage carts upstairs. The other reviews are correct. Don’t hang your ironed/dry-cleaned items on the rack while wheeling. They will slide smooth off. The top is broken.

I was sharing a room with my older brother and a piece of a maroon condom wrapper was on the floor near the beds to greet us. The couch in all of our rooms could have easily been there since the early 90s. They look to be soiled. The computer chairs each of the rooms was ripped with shreds hanging.

Most of the family left and while gone, I began to clean/disinfect. There was a large spider under one of my pillows. Tried to spray it with Lysol already in-hand and it jumped behind the bed. Went to the front desk to ask for bug spray to take back up. The desk clerk seemed surprised… I sprayed and never found it :(.

By this time I am paranoid and start to look for anything else hiding, and on one of the sheets there were blood droplets (see photo). Usually when you wash blood it turns bright orange or opaque. These drops on the covers were deep red. No one washed these. Took off that sheet and decided to look underneath. The entire mattress is stained (see photo) with a nice mattress pad placed on top. By this time I am ready to leave altogether but I did not drive. I will be doing so on any additional trips and choosing the hotels for us moving forward. The bathrooms were decent. The ceiling had big black spots over the shower/tub. One of the towels had food on it. Tub hadn’t been cleaned. Ran to the store for bleach and shower shoes. Check your fridge!! This was all within 2 hours of arriving.

Found a small roach in my medicine bag the next morning. I had it open while showering/getting dressed. Mentally screaming by this point. We saw another roach the day we left crawling up the wall as we were leaving and just let it be. I would never in my life stay here again.

For the decent things, there was always room to park. They had breakfast daily and my family seemed to enjoy that; I didn't chance it so I can’t say. The air in the room is nice and cool. The curtains may smell a bit but as someone with hot flashes, the cool air was amazing. The location isn’t bad depending on where you’re headed. It’s not too far from the beach and there are restaurants on I-10 around the corner. There’s another elevator at the other end of the hall on the right of the first...

Location was perfect, breakfast was great, and staff was fairly nice. Unfortunately from there I can say absolutely everything else was a nightmare. The room above us had children who you could hear literally running from one end of the room to the other, playing in/slamming closet doors, jumping on beds - usually I can tolerate it but it sounded like they were hearding buffalos which continued from the time we checked in until 11pm and took three complaints to make it stop. I also FULLY believe now we received a room that was NOT cleaned. There were dirty socks in closet, stains on bed, and three of the “clean” towels - some of which looked like grease and BLOOD, fitted sheet was barely on bed and inside out, blanket had multiple rips in it with stuffing coming out, dropped my charger behind night stand and to my disgust there was dirty ear plugs, medication, and rotten gummy bears along with a HUGE layer of dust/dander, mold/mildew on inside of window where it was literally dripping with humidity and curtains were broken. Stains/scuffs all behind bed, on dressers, and on walls, huge “smears” on one of the headboards, TV base was broken making it tilt and had a huge black mark all across bottom of screen where it was going out. We let the front desk know some of this upon leaving and they gave us two free drinks but the absolute worst part of this was my mother and I both contracting Covid - she lives out of town and we met at and only were at hotel together and both became symptomatic and tested positive on the same day. IF this room was actually “cleaned” then I highly suggest finding a different hotel. Maybe we just got unlucky but being immunocompromised and getting sick took me out of work for two weeks. So this hotel stay to see my mom I hadn’t seen in a year and was supposed to be a joyous occasion ended up costing me well over $1k and threw me into a month long lupus flare. BE WEARY. We went to Comfort Suites Gulfport in July of this year and our room experience was definitely not up to par! There was trash left on the floor under the bed, hair left on the carpet that we saw after going on the bathroom floor, that was attached to our socks. Not a small amount of hair, it was long 6-8 inch hair. So, that let us know the floor wasn't vacuumed! Hair in the tub and the bed sheets! We weren't happy with the room!!! So when we went to check out we told the GM about our experience and she apologized greatly and said that it didn't sound like her hotel and cleaning staff and she would take care of it. We said ok and was prepared to leave but she said she would credit us 4000 points for our inconvenience. We were happy with that said, that's what customer service was about. She stated she would be contacting us to let us know when our points would be added and we didn't hear from her, my wife called and again she stated she would handle the points. Long story short, after several calls and several different excuses, to this day we still haven't received those points and we still haven't heard from her. All of this could have been avoided because we just wanted her to know that, maybe they need to check behind their cleaning staff and we just wanted an apology. So we will not be going back to this hotel because we pay our hard earned money to get to the status we've achieved and receive the points we accrue. We have several hotel accounts and have top level status in most of them due to our work and leisure travel but this is a first time we've been totally disregarded by a GM or hotel. We will not be...
