I don’t give a review of any restaurant before the third visit, and even then I don’t unless it’s very good or very bad overall.
In this case it’s sadly very bad, avg ticket per person is $78 over all trips, all three trips it was pick your own boil. ( they steam not boil, not necessarily bad but falsely advertised)
First trip the service was barely acceptable, during the entire visit we seen the server 2 times after food was delivered, with more than one empty glass on the table, but hey they showed up. But the worst part was the “recommended house seasoning” tasted like burnt sugar!
Second trip we avoided the “house seasoning “ and got garlic butter, it was much better, as well as the service.
The third trip however was much much worse, after again ordering garlic butter seasoning, that was NOT what was brought to the table. After waiting over 10 mins for the server to come back into sight, I had to ask for a server from a person cleaning another table. After explaining the issue, it was immediately, corrected, or at least removed from the table… but after an extended time the correction was brought to the table. At which time I asked to speak to a manager. A “manager” came to the table and after listening to what I had to say she clearly didn’t care at all. At that point I asked for utensils to clean/eat the Dungeness crabs and snow crabs that we ordered. What was brought to the table was a plastic fork in a bag. After asking for a metal utensils she told us they didn’t have any… fast forward to finally having to ask for the check, we find that what we ordered was not what we was charged for, it was 14% more as 2 different items was requested at 1/2 lbs but was listed at 1 lbs each, one of which was blue mussels. The reason I list this specifically is that there was 7 empty shells in the “steamed bag”
When asked for contact information for the general manager, I was told the owner was in the restaurant. When the kid showed up I asked to confirm that he was the owner, and he proceeded to tell me he was not the owner but was the manager. Clearly not the manager from 45 mins before but with the same attitude of “I don’t care”. Avoid this place at...
Read moreMy family and I decided to try Mr. & Mrs. Crab for the first time for my birthday dinner. I've always heard wonderful things about this establishment. I loved the decorations and cleanliness and our server was very kind. My daughters and I ordered one of the combos with the Mr. & Mrs. Crab seasoning flavor choice, hot. When it was brought to us we opened the steamed bag and everything was just in a huge puddle of grease it seems. The crab legs were super small and there were several legs that seemed to have already been broken off and missing. It was really hard to get any meat out of them. The flavor wasn't absolutely horrible, not season very well but it wasn't at all as I was expecting especially for the price. My daughter and I didn't eat half the food because of it just being way too greasy to even enjoy. The fried fish, fried calamari ( little too tough but great flavor), Cajon fries and sweet potatoes fries were delicious. My youngest did order a side of macaroni and he gagged on it and then spitted it out. So I tired it and had to spit it out as well. The best way I could describe it is it tasted like baby food jar macaroni. Granted, this is a seafood restaurant but that shouldn't even be considered a side because of how awful it was. We should have said something but we were just too tired with the kiddos and disappointed that we decided to leave...
Read moreWe built our own combo with sausage, blue crab, & crawfish. It was perfect for us. We couldn't find blue crab anywhere down here for days! This is incredibly heartbreaking to me as i'm from here and we used to be able to get crab everywhere. I will add this was not a traditional cajun way of prepping the crawfish or the blue crab but it was absolutely delicious. There was a teriyaki fusion flavor going on. Very good. The place is decorated in a way that definitely suits my nostalgic longing... and our waitress was awesome. Very friendly and accommodating.
I read my comment and was thinking... actually this IS traditional. Cajun people are also a melting mix of all kinds of people, but I was referring to what people think of when they go to New Orleans style places. I don't know the owners but I love teriyaki crawfish and that was not the first time Ive had it down there, so to me, this is also traditional. Just not holy trinity zataran & Tabasco. Im in Tennessee fantasizing about this place and came back to look at the photos 😆 yummyyyyyy. I'm homesick. Please- somebody go and make a mess for me and...
