There are a lot of great Mexican Restaurants on the coast. I have been to every one I find that I had not been to before. I usually always order the very same thing when I go. I went at lunch time and found their lunch menu seem a little higher in price than most but not by much. I know what I usually order was twice as high as I have ever paid at any other place I have ordered it. It is a side order of a chilli relleno and I usually order one margarita, sometimes two depending on how weak they are made. If the food and drinks live up to the price I am charged I never have a problem. Based on what I regularly order at almost all Mexican Restaurants' I go to for lunch I have never had a bill for over $21 which would include the side order of a chile relleno and one or two margaritas based on how weak the margarita is made. I thought their prices for their margaritas were a lot higher than any other restaurant I have been to. The drinks were a flop and the chile relleno was soso but the two margaritas I ordered I felt were on the scam side. My bill was around $42. My first margarita was what I think described as their 12 ounce for $12. It was week. So I decided to ordered their medium size they charge $17 (?) that they say is 24 ounces. Twenty four ounces equals 3 cups. When they brought me the drink it was served in a tear drop glass "with ice!" I asked for a to go box for what was left of my food and a cup to carry the drink out with. I poured all of the drink except for one sip to see if it was like the first one then pured it and the ice into the cup. I know what 3 cups looks like and this paper cup they gave me to go was less than a 3 cup container for a liquid. When I got home I got my measuring cup and filled it with 24 ounces and poured it into the cup. Yep the paper cup was not big enough to just hold 24 ounces of water. Then on top of that I did not top it off with ice!! There are so many great mexican restaurants on the coast it is my opinion this one should be the very last one to try out!! Impressingly over priced for their food and a huge scam for their margaritas. Do not believe me, next time you go there take a measuring cup with you, take out the ice and see how much of a mixed drink you are...
Read moreI would like to preface this by saying neither the service I experienced nor the food deserve any stars.
The food was disgusting. Everything was overly salty. The rice was bland. The beans were greasy and salty. The burrito was just salty, watery chicken surrounded by salty, watery goo. Salt salt salt.
Then there was the service. The hostess was nice, but that was only one of two instances anyone in the establishment showed any manners or customer service. The woman who seated me looked annoyed and turned her back quickly, mumbling for me to follow her.
The young man who brought chips and salsa was upbeat and responded when thanked.
That was the end of good customer service. The waitress was surly, rude, and made it abundantly clear she was perturbed by being assigned to my table. She refused to look at me or acknowledge that she heard what I said. She immediately left. When she served the drink, she placed it on the table, asked if there was another coming, and before I finished confirming, had dropped two straws and walked away. Even with this ill-mannered behavior, I was polite and said please and thank you.
When my dining companion arrived, she was much different with that person. She was smiling, referring to her as ma'am. When we ordered, she asked my friend,"What would you like ma'am?"
Me? She just waited and said nothing. This went on throughout the meal. She offered to refill my friend's drink, which was just a bit lower than mine and said nothing to me. When she asked if everything was ok, she turned her back to me and spoke only to my friend.
When I dared ask her for refill, she acted as if she didn't hear. I found out she actually heard me when she slid a refill across the table to me before quickly walking away.
Even if the service had not been crystal clear, on my very first, and definitely last, visit there, I am not wanted there, the food was enough to guarantee I would never return and spend money on food too...
Read moreMy husband and I stopped here on our drive from Florida to Texas. The reviews seemed promising but boy were we disappointed. We ordered the enchiladas plate with green sauce and chicken. I asked the server if they had a kids menu and she said they had a kids burrito with bean rice and cheese. Perfect for my 1 year old I thought.our food arrived to the table within 10 mins of our order. We had received 2 green enchilada plates with ground beef despite ordering chicken and a kids "burrito". That was just a small flour tortilla with ground beef in it. The ends of the "burrito" were open. I told the server my 1 year old would be unable to pick up and eat the burrito because the ends were open and asked if they could close the ends and bring us the one with bean cheese and rice as described when we ordered. The waitress said it was not possible. I told her my child couldn't eat the plate as it was served and then the server picked up the plate rolled her eyes and walked away with the food. I then got up and asked for the manager because our dinner plates were also incorrect with beef not chicken. The manager came over and seemed annoyed. She didn't apologize or even offer to fix the plates She just asked what I wanted. When I explained that we had ordered the kids burrito with beans cheese and rice and enchiladas with chicken she said that they would fix the order. I reconfirmed that they could bring me a burrito with closed ends for my daughter to which she replied yes. They brought our new plates of food and not only was the chicken and beans cold but the kids burrito was open at both ends and had no rice. The manager dropped the food and walked off. Very unimpressed with the whole experience. Needless to say we don't recommend and would give this place zero...
