Best Western Casa Villa Suites — Hotel in Harlingen

This was the worst hotel I've been to. Mind you, I had stayed here before, without any complaints, but this time, I couldn't believe the service.... I checked in late around 1am and checked into room 109, up on entering I got a wet dog smell and thought I will mention this to the check in office. She handed my husband a bottle of odor ban. I called to have us changed to a different room, as the spray did nothing to mask the smell and mustyness in the room, not to mention the mold that is probably growing under the carpet. So we change over to room 103. Same musty smells but we are just exhausted, its 3am. We sleep, and wake toa shower with 6inches of water that will not drain. Grossed out, we wash out legs over again while sitting on the side of the tub. Fridge was out, so my daughters milk and our leftovers were spoiled. I guess the worst part was no I'm sorry, we will work at getting that room up to par, just nothing...except, oh yeah, I've heard that before...., I was floored. Owners of this hotel should be ashamed of yourself. Best western should meet certain standards, I guess yours was...

We stayed here over a month ago. Great size for a great price. Complete with microwave and mini fridge. Rooms seem to be clean but definitely are not. I have mild allergies and everytime I entered our room I was unable to breathe especially over night. My children and I hate shoes walking around turned our feet and white socks black....The room was not a very comfortable temperature due to the curtains were to long and the aircondition (as pictured) was dirty. Water pressure was low and no cold water not a big issue but after a hot day of T-ball my kids like cool water for their bath. We came back to our room half way cleaned and empty fabuloso bottle on our counter. Housekeeping was very friendly and fixed all the problems right away (claimed to be short staffed due to three girls quiting) but had we not been here our room would not have been cleaned just as a friends room was left dirty she was staying the next room over. I would have given this hotel 5 stars if floors where to be shampood extreamly well houskeeping was not short staffed  and the aircondition...

The young lady at the front desk (named Littie or Lithie) didn't seem too welcoming at all (no smile, no enthusiastic greeting)... just kind of ho-hum and non-chalant about greeting me as a guest. Paid $105 for a single/king and Was pleasantly surprised by the overhead waterfall showerhead in the shower only too be disappointed that it didn't work. Only the wall mounted shower head worked. Was further disappointed by seeing a roach crawling up the wall by the table that I was eating at. Called front desk gal/Lithie who said that since maintenance person is gone she can only come to room and spray or move me to another room. (No one wants to move after having unpacked and getting comfy). No apologies or empathy from her. So I asked for manager who was unavailable till next morning. Ended up simply killing the roach myself but next morning got out of shower to find a spider crawling on floor as I stepped out of shower. Killed it. And I'll be speaking with manager this morning. Slept great though!!...
