El Rincon Mexicano — Restaurant in Harlingen

Our first time at El Rincon Mexicano, Harlingen Texas and we were very impressed with the quality and flavor of our breakfast. The chef (owner) asked us personally what dish we had in mind which was totally customizable. I wanted some Chorizo Chilaquiles like those at Thousand Oaks Cafe in San Antonio, he made us two orders of Migas Locas made to order with a side of crispy and airy bacon. This plate was not only presentable, delectable to eat but was made to order as we preferred. He mentioned if it’s not on menu, ask us and we can make it for yall! The taste of our food, was hands down one of the best plates I have had in years! You can tell it’s fresh to order and meticulously made by a culinary artist. When sharing his experience as cook/owner, the chef was very genuine and you can tell his wealth of culinary experience in his dishes. We will surely be back to try the Ribeye and his other dinner options! We checked out the hidden gem out again for breakfast in Harlingen, off Ed Carey and Expressway 83 and it was STILL a great place to eat!! Bring your appetite...

Carlos and his team did an amazing job serving us the most wonderful meal. He caters to each individual’s craving. Everything was excellent. We had appetizers which included made to order guacamole and nachos. Each one of us (we were 7) ordered based on our cravings and not a menu.

Our orders included bacon wrapped stuffed shrimp, fish filet, calabazita con pollo, chile relleno, chicken tacos and beef fajitas.

We only got photos of the apps because when the main dish arrived we were so impressed with the presentation and dug in! Yum!

I am vegan. Carlos said I will bring you something great. He was not lying. He made me a veggie potato patty seasoned to perfection, grilled zucchini and carrots and a salad. I was in heaven.

Found this place by accident wife saw it when she was at Cricket but didn't go that day. Anyways she told me about it when we were getting tires put on at Discount Tire and walked over. It was well worth the walk big portions Good Food and this place had people coming in and out. I can recommend the potato and egg taco & machcado & egg plate. The flour tortillas were homemade and super delicious they were cooked very well and corn tortillas were homemade also and good but I liked the flour tortillas more. My wife got the taco con todo but my potato egg taco & machacado and egg were better my opinion. I will definitely come back here. Prices were very good $25.13 for all that and a Coke and tea.
