Our camping experience was great right from the start! We were greeted in the office/camp store upon our arrival. We were given a packet of stapled papers with VERY thoughtful and important info. We were then escorted to our campsite, and were helped to place our travel trailer. He even checked if we were level! Had a load of firewood delivered right to our campsite! The pool was a great temperature! Not very busy, since it was midweek, in the evening, when my husband and I went in. Pool and area around was nice and clean. Lots of outdoor furniture for during busier times. The restrooms were immaculate! Cleaned several times throughout each day! (Know that for a fact, as our trailer was very close by.) ALSO, the grounds are immaculate as well! After someone leaves a campsite, or one of the cabins, the ground is checked very thoroughly for any trash, sticks, etc. Most of the people staying at the campground were friendly! The nature trail was wonderful! Well-groomed paths. Saw quite a few different birds. We didn't go to the playground/other activities in that area, but we would've been there often, if we had our grandkids along. Looked very nice, with LOTS of things to do! We were visited often by the staff/owners, but never in an annoying way. More of just a friendly "hello", "do you need anything", or " keep warm, it's going to be a cold one tonight". I only mentioned a few things in particular, but the WHOLE experience was GREAT! If I could've given more "stars", I would've!...

Came up to Harrison to spend time with my family of five for Thursday through Sunday. We we're the last group coming in Thursday at 7:52 pm. The owners seemed kind of rushed to give us our stuff and then leave to go do whatever else there is to do when their front office closes (at 8-8:30).They didn't take time to talk about the rules/checkout time/ect., but instead gave us a sheet to try and figure it out ourselves. The owners then go around watching your every move all day. "Don't do this. You can't do that. Go and fix this," which seemed rude considering they didn't go over all the rules with you. The pool was okay, but not heated. The bathrooms were VERY small. We also were thinking about staying two extra nights (Monday, and Tuesday), but they had told us they were already booked full. That was funny because one of the people that stays there often said they were NEVER full. To top it off, we had discussed prices over the phone and they LIED. There were two adults, and three children. We were told that they didn't charge for children, and the price would be $35 per night. That's what it said on the website, and that's what they had told us over the phone. Yet, they went and overcharged us when we went to check out because we had 'five' people instead of 'four'. We got charged for an extra person! Even though we were not told that over the phone! My family and I will NEVER go there again. We will also be sure to make sure ALL we know who travel up there will know NEVER to...

We have stayed here previously for overnights on our way up to the UP. This was our first stay as a destination. I cannot say enough good things about Jon and Lea, and the staff. Facilities were impeccable, and all sights were well maintained and clean. From the moment we checked in it was a very pleasant experience. We were met out our site by Jon the owner (which is uncommon these days) He helped me locate my camper in the best location, and this was a first he provided shoring, and placed them up by tires to level out my camper (He actually uses a level). We purchased wood, and it was delivered directly to our site. Everyone we talked to was so friendly, and willing to help, or just sit and talk. My wife is disabled, and is in a power chair. We were down at the dog run, and had a small event, that was no in part the fault of the campground. My wife fell forward out of her chair, and one phone call to the office for assistance we met instantly with people from the staff, and fellow campers. What an amazing feeling to know that were are people out there that will come to your aid without hesitation. We are going to make Country side campground in Harrison, our destination location far into the future. I highly recommend you give it a try. Without fail the best private campground we have ever stayed at in Michigan. Jon, Lea, and your staff are amazing. ...

One of the best campgrounds we have been to, and we’ve been to at least 50 across the country. The campground is shady almost all around. The camper spaces have enough space for a picnic table and fire pit with plenty of space for seats. The owner will help guide you while parking to have the perfect position for your hook ups. Prices are very reasonable all around which is respected in today’s economy. There is a nature trail which is well maintained as well as some “hidden” gems like the grandfather or porcupine tree. The bathrooms are very clean and well maintained, there are 3 showers and 3 toilets in the women’s bathroom and 3 showers, 2 toilets and a urinal in the men’s bathroom. We never had to wait. There is a good size playground and a toy shed with yard games available. The pool is heated and well maintained. The owners are very friendly and are willing to take the time to have a conversation and get to know you as well as random check-ins to make sure everything is ok. We had bad storms coming in and they took the time to go around warning everyone and recommend taking in awnings and lowering tents. From previous reviews it seems they have really turned this place around and I can’t wait to come back

W.O.W. This is the CLEANEST campground I have ever been to. Seriously not 1 cigarette but or candy wrapper on my site when I arrived. Picnic tables are freshly washed. Sites around #40 are spacious and shaded all day which was awesome. No mats allowed but it was great as the grass is green and lush. Store has apparel, camping tools, and ice cream. Kids ran there every day and it is affordable and friendly. Pool is super clean as well as the bathrooms. Loved the online check in process so there was no delays and we just pulled right into our site. If you have pets there is a fenced in dog park with pick up bags and mowed trails for daily walking or biking. We will be back!!!
