My recent stay at this hotel from August 14-17 was extremely disappointing. As someone with severe allergies to pet hair and dander, I was appalled by the lack of cleanliness and consideration for guests with special needs.

First, I was shocked to find pets allowed in the common eating area. This is not only unsanitary but inconsiderate to guests who may have allergies. My room (#407) was not cleaned properly at all during my stay. The air conditioning unit was clogged with pet hair and dust, contributing to the poor air quality. Despite staying for several days, my room was never cleaned even once, which is simply unacceptable.

After becoming very sick due to my allergies, I addressed my concerns with the manager, April. Her response was dismissive. She stated that the hotel is pet-friendly and doesn’t offer designated rooms for guests with pets versus those without. I was informed that guests can have up to two pets (whether cats, dogs, or both) and are allowed to let them sleep in the beds. This policy clearly prioritizes pet owners over guests who may require special accommodations.

As a long-time regular guest when visiting Hartsville, I am deeply disappointed by the hotel’s disregard for guests who do not travel with pets. This experience has completely soured my view of this hotel, and I will never stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Hartsville again.

Our stay was very pleasant. This had to be one of, if not the cleanest hotel room we ever stayed in. Me, being a neat freak, always bring all of my cleaning supplies with me to hotels. But they were not needed and just a quick spray of Lysol was all I had to use. The front desk ladies, Katie and April were so friendly and helpful. They also asked if they could have my number to text me if my room was okay later on (which she did check in with me multiple times). I had to text and ask for more towels because they room attendant didn’t refresh them when cleaning the room (which my only complaint but not really a complaint because it was an easy fix) and they responded promptly to my text with apologies and told me to come down for new towels.

The breakfast was good and breakfast area was extremely clean. Brandy, the breakfast attendant was nice and helpful. The second day there was a man working in the breakfast area that didn’t speak at all or help out (he should be more like Brandy).

The location of the hotel is great. It’s downtown and near many restaurants (in walking distance) and bars. But it’s still a quiet area, not a lot of hustle and bustle.
