Oak Manor Inn — Hotel in Hartsville

On a 3 day stopover, we found this home about halfway between the ocean and Lancaster SC for a short getaway. David Hubert, the owner, met us at the door and we immediately got a sense of a welcoming and warm host. He gave us a tour of the historic house located near the center of Hartsville across from Coker University. After the tour of the house, he allowed us to select the room we wanted. The choice was difficult because all rooms have distinct features that make each one unique. This gorgeous home has been updated with the amenities you would expect, while retaining the charm and archetecural features of a historic home. The breakfasts were exceptional, with fruit, bacon, eggs and perfectly seasoned potatoes on the first day. The next day greeted us with New York bagels with smoked salmon on one, and and traditional ham, egg, and cheese on the other (we split them between us to sample both). Our last day was a very special pumpkin pancake and bacon breakfast. Our time there included a birthday celebration with 2 other guests, and we felt like we had a family reunion. David and Lisa make the perfect hosts, being available, but giving you plenty of quiet time to be alone. They have a keen insight into the town of Hartsville and places to visit and restaurants to try out. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and are planning a return trip in the next few months. We had a truly wonderful stay at Oak Manor Inn. David, the innkeeper and owner, was incredibly welcoming, kind, and a generous host—he made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The home itself is beautifully kept, with spacious and inviting rooms. Our bed was exceptionally comfortable, making for a restful night’s sleep.

One of my favorite spots was the screened-in porch, where I spent hours relaxing, reading, and even getting some work done thanks to the fast and reliable Wi-Fi. The location is perfect—right next to Coker University, which made it easy for my daughter to explore the campus during her visit as a prospective student. Despite the close proximity, the inn is peaceful and quiet, offering a serene escape.

Each morning, David served a delicious breakfast that was clearly made with care. We were absolutely delighted with our stay and are already looking forward to returning many times...

After a glorious weekend at Oak Manor, it is a pleasure to write a review. Lisa and Dave are extremely welcoming and gracious innkeepers. They have created an amazing and very comfortable atmosphere which feels like home. The bedrooms are well-appointed and so restful. The bedding is conducive to giving you a wonderful night of sleep. Very nice ensuite bathrooms are stocked with luxurious towels and all powder room items. Chef Dave served a delicious, amazing breakfast each morning. The menus are full of variety and the presentation was outstanding. An additional asset was the availability of private dinners. We experienced a magical evening of delectable appetizers, bar beverages, three-course dinner, and an after dinner beverage to complete a night where memories were made.
