My wife and I just checked in a short time ago. Jim and Barry are fantastic hosts. To say they are gentle souls isn't enough. They provide covered parking, stock your fridge and pantry, walkthrough all the features and amenities. It's hands down the most immaculate property we have ever had the pleasure of staying in bar none. Not even a speck of dust. The grounds of the cabin are spectacular and quiet except the wildlife. Birds like a Disney film. While it can get chilly, they have a gas fireplace and the bed has a heating blanket. I can't say enough about how perfect this is. They gave dining recommendations that were spot on. They are gracious hosts, grateful and welcoming to us and I would say mahalo to them for what is an absolutely beautiful experience. PS you can't see the golf course from anywhere on this property. You pass by it driving here is all. Don't hesitate. It's worth every penny of your hard earned money.

Sharing details is hard, because the level of detail you will find in this cabin is hard to beat! From the moment we arrived we felt so welcome. It was wonderful to meet the owner, the cabin has every single thing you could want while staying in paradise. Suggestions on what to see and where to go and when made our trip simply phenomenal. It is a stones throw away from Volcano Park, which made getting into the park a breeze. My only regret is not booking a longer stay to enjoy the conversations with our host.

We loved this cabin and our host, Barry. The cabin was comfortable and very nicely decorated. There was food in the refrigerator for us, as well as freshly ground coffee. The grounds are beautiful. We would stay here again.

First of all coming back home and getting into the routine is the only reason it took us so long to write a review. If you are hesitating to book the Crater rim cabin, please, don't wait another second.

We stayed here for 2 weeks in August and we are absolutely happy about our choice. Renting a jeep , we were able to go on adventures all over the island, while coming back at night to cook supper and enjoy the cabin. On the days we wanted to take it easy, we could spend some peaceful time in the charming garden.

The Cabin is situated at an ideal location to visit the volcano park and close enough to the main road for easy access, while offering privacy and tranquility. It is exceptionally comfortable. Jim and Barry are as hospitable as could be, they provided us with everything we needed for a wonderful stay. There were many books and pamphlet available to read up and plan your vacation, and if you need advice, the hosts are more than happy to guide you. The nights do get a bit chilly outside, but all the comfort of a warm bed and the coziness of a gas fireplace will provide you with a restful atmosphere.

Even now, we still feel like it was our home away from home, in this little paradise. We will always hold dear the memories have made there, if we can , we will...

Crater Rim Cabin is the perfect place to stay when visiting Volcano National Park. The hosts, Jim and Barry, are extremely accommodating and available but not at all obtrusive. The cabin has all the conveniences and comforts of home. Wonderful coffee, breads, videos of the volcano, and the cozy heated blanket made for the perfect ending of a perfect day. Sitting outside having coffee in the morning was exactly the peace I was looking for. The gorgeous grounds of this cabin in the rainforest are truly serene and so well and lovingly cared for. We look forward to returning as soon as we can.

On a side note….My husband and I planned to celebrate our 25th Anniversary there in March 2021 but had to cancel due to my husband’s bad case of Covid pneumonia. (Hosts graciously refunded our entire deposit at the last minute). We rescheduled 6 months later and were so glad we did!!! On our 25-1/2 year anniversary on September 29th, Kilauea decided to erupt!! How exciting and beautiful to see. A visit of a...
