I have stayed at this place quite a few times when I had to come to this area a lot. It's not glamorous at all thats for sure. The rooms have some writing on the walls and on the furniture, plus some stains on the floor and ceiling. The parking lot is tiny and really hard to park in, plus its very blind coming out of it so be careful! People illegally park in the red zone on the street all the time which makes it impossible to see oncoming traffic. I was hit once because of this, its about a 35 mph zone. The area is a little sketchy at night, but in the 3 years I have been to and from hawthorne I have never seen any violence first hand, whether with someone or alone, but then again i can hold my own. I'm pretty sure most of the people staying here are hooking up, so if that bothers you go someplace else. ||||If you are looking for a reliable place to stay and you aren't high maintenance, this place will do just fine. The sheets and pillows and such were always clean when I stayed, the mess was really just on the walls and ceiling (looks like gang or teenage vandalism with sharpie, nothing crazy). The rooms all have AC, a microwave, a mini fridge, and free wifi. Most of the rooms furniture includes bed tables, lamps, a table plus chairs, and a dresser with a mirror. I have never had any issue with the amenities not working. ||||The staff here is really nice, they are always alert and welcoming and I have never had any problems with checking in or out. They are also good with the room service. ||||For $65 a night I would stay here again. I have been to some seriously crappy motels and the deluxe inn is a luxury compared to some places I have stayed. The value is good especially if you are just looking for a place to crash for the night and aren't planning to...
Read moreI must say that the guy that works the front desk at this motel is horrendous! We stayed a few days and wanted to pay for one more night and we went down to pay. We use travel sites for deals and we mentioned the pricing on Expedia to the guy and he said, "check it now"...the price changed. I didn't get it at first so I pulled up Agoda...well that price magically changed too! So my husband started checking and mentioned what the pricing would be after our discounts and the guy kept typing on a machine so I realized he was adjusting the online pricing with us standing there so we would pay more! Well I pulled him up on it and he said he would not give us a discount. I said, you could if you wanted to and he said, "I don't want to". He even admitted to changing the pricing while we stood there but lied through his crooked teeth that it takes 30 minutes to update...it didn't or else he would not have said check it now! Well, you must imagine how that was to see this scoundrel at work right before our very eyes. I will remain professional with my reviews but you can imagine what kind of person he is. He is a despicable person and I don't recommend this place for anyone. He has the disposition of a rabid possum and smells like one as well. It is abhorrent that things like these are allowed, consumers should not be taken advantage of. California is a joke now...why can motels charge prices on par with 3 and 4 star hotels? I will definitely file a formal complaint against this "business" because it should be...
Read moreStayed here with a buddy to see a concert at The Forum which is a few miles away from the Deluxe Inn. It is not a very nice place to stay and though it was inexpensive, I still feel like I overpaid. Rooms were spacious though sparsely maintained and decorated. Locks, shower, television all functioned adequately. At best, I felt like I was moderately safe from harm for most of my stay. However, there was a moment when someone riding in a car exiting the hotel's parking lot starting shouting insults at someone walking into the hotel lobby. There was a lot of yelling from both individuals, the car came to a screeching halt and the situation escalated rapidly as one of the passengers got out of the car and charged through the lobby entryway. The situation narrowly avoided violence as the driver of the car screamed at the passenger to get out of the lobby and back in the car and after a brief but tense showdown the passenger returned to the vehicle. I get it though. The TV was small, the shower head was low, and the parking spots were narrow and I suppose that is a recipe for tension amongst the hotel guests. On the plus side, we had a nice view of what appeared to be a quinceañera and the games they were...
