American Deli — Restaurant in Hawthorne

I usually don't leave reviews, but I felt the need to share my experience today. Unfortunately, my visit was disappointing due to the behavior of two employees, Katy and Betty. From the moment I asked a few simple questions about the menu and pricing, their attitudes were dismissive and unwelcoming. I tried not to take it personally, but as I began placing my order, their tone became noticeably rude and passive-aggressive, completely unprovoked. I come here often, but I’m done giving this place my business. The young lady working the morning shift consistently messes up my order because she’s too busy on her phone to pay attention, which makes it frustrating to repeat myself every time. A few days ago, I even witnessed this happening with other customers too. On top of that, the cook always looks like she’s in a bad mood and gives customers dirty looks. The food is okay, but with the poor service I’ve experienced, it’s just not worth it anymore. I hope they make some serious improvements...

Still a relatively new business in the area. They offer generous portion sizes for the price you pay. The overall build quality of the food is superb. But with most small businesses they use the same general ingredients. Crinkle cut fries and Canola oil. Burger patties are just alright. Lots of options on the menu that seem to have no correlation with each other i.e. fried rice and Philly sandwiches. They're work area at a glance is clean and well organized.
