The front staff here are terrible. Let's take each interaction one by one as they happened during my stay. I walk in and stand behind a guy who is much taller than me, but you can see me walk in with a bag on my shoulder. He steps away from the counter to go to the bathroom and she says nothing and continues to look down. I step closer and she says without looking up, I'll be right with you. So, I step back. The guy comes back and they continue to socialize. Meanwhile two other people come through the door and she gives them over the top greetings. Then some guy who barely speaks english, comes out from the corner since I been standing there, which he's been on his phone to ask if I'm staying there. I looked at him crazy because I was standing there with my bag on my arm. When the desk clerk finally got to me and found out that I had Gold status, then the corporate greetings came out. Then to top it off, they put $747.04 on my card for incidentals. The room for two nights was over a hundred dollars less.
2.I ordered doordash for dinner and the driver left without giving the drink I ordered so, I called doordash to let them know. So the same clerk who checked me in saw me pick up my meal. Several hours later she calls the room to let me know that my drink has been sitting up there for hours. I come out to pick it up. It's warm and watered down. She said the guy who doesn't speak much english told her it was for room 140. She told him they don't have a room 140. I look on the drink and my name is on the tag twice. The said they were sorry.
I asked for a late check out on Sunday and was told because of bookings that was not possible. Look folks I used to be a hotel clerk and hotels empty out on Sundays.
I live in Haymarket, but since this place has opened the service continues to go down. I am going to try and speak with the Manager before I go. As a veteran, I'm telling all my brothers and sisters to avoid this place like the pleague. I'll post again if I get any feedback from...
Read moreA very nice hotel, but as some other reviews have mentioned be careful using food and beverage credits here.
As a Diamond status member I am supposed to receive a daily $10 food and beverage credit. At check in I asked if that was applicable to the marketplace in the lobby or just the in-house restaurant/bar. I was told specifically that the marketplace was eligible. When I came down later that evening I confirmed once again that the snack I was purchasing would be covered by the food and beverage credit and even had a conversation about the best options to take advantage of. With this understanding I continued to treat myself to a small item every night for the next four nights. Thus consider my surprise at checkout when these charges were not balanced out on my final receipt.
I spoke to the front desk agent afterwards and was told that the policy was being changed and that marketplace items used to be eligible but not any longer. She advised me to contact the customer service Diamond Desk and they could help me. Unfortunately this was not the case either and when they contacted the hotel on my behalf it was alleged that there was no way anyone would have told me I could use my credit at the marketplace in the first place.
At the end of the day I realize it's a fairly minor issue and am privileged enough to not have to quibble too much over ~$50. The gentleman I originally spoke to about the credit was very friendly and I do not believe it was his intention to mislead me, but I don't appreciate the unwillingness to rectify the situation after the fact and essentially call me a liar about the information I originally received.
That said, my stay was otherwise pleasant and I wouldn't have much to complain about...
Read moreSadly Hilton Garden Inn. It was clean. Staff could not tell the same story.|I'm a Hilton Diamond member, just means I travel a lot. Paid for breakfast with reservation. When checking in, guy at desk said we dont sell it that way. I showed him my reservation - clearly stated with breakfast. He gave me 1 coupon for a three night reservation. However I get up early, and "cafe" doesn't open til 11 am ( was told that by lady at front desk at 5:45) and no coffee til 6AM. Coupon said accepted at Crossroads Tavern - that evening tried to use coupon ($20) for dinner - the man there said No this is the crossroads bar - I asked him what's the difference he point to the other side of the room the diner isn't open now...I had ordered from the menu - tavern hamburger - medium, came out rare. I did go to the desk and get the second breakfast coupon and was harrassed a second time. |I was checking out after two nights of this - the next morning at 6 got a warm cup of coffee at 6 - they open at 6? Had some work to do and finished that by 7 - went back to the same counter and asked when I could get breakfast - starts at 6. Here is what we have - pastries and some pre-cooked sandwiches (egg, cheeses, bacon on a bun, cieche, ham and cheese croissant) - I spent the two $40 coupons and got 5 items. Upon check out - lady at desk (supervisor of some sort) told me the guy at the bar was wrong, the young lady that served coffee and warmed up pastries told me she gets a lot of the coupons, which is not what the front desk indicated. Staff / training issues. Expected more from...
