My husband and I stumbled on this coffee shop on Friday and were not disappointed. The shop itself is beautifully decorated and inviting. The aesthetic makes you feel like youâre in the 50âs, 60âs, or 70âs in Europe. Our barista, Sam, was a pleasure to interact with and answered all of our questions about their offerings. We tried their cinnamon lattĂ©, drip coffee, and a thousand miles pastry which were all phenomenal. The lattĂ© art (a teddy bear) in my drink was very cute and detailed. What I loved about the cinnamon lattĂ© was the caramel and nuts on the outside of the cup that created a unique tasting experience for me as a customer. The espresso itself was very light and didnât upset my head or stomach, which was a welcome change from my previous coffee drinking experiences. As we wrapped up, we chatted with Sam again, who was nothing short of kind, friendly, and warm. We will definitely be coming back to try more drinks and some of their sandwiches. Thereâs plenty to choose from as far as their menu goes. The hard part is just picking one thing to eat. đ„Č So glad we found this hidden gem. Itâs not a matter of if we will be...
Read moreBig fan, wish I had found 1971 sooner! This coffee shop has a very relaxed yet somehow sophisticated vibe to it. I enjoyed the laid back music, the long layout, and the variety of seating - among the many tables are a comfy couch and armchairs, and a longer table tucked away in the corner that is perfect for studying or working. They also have a couple small tables outside. There are many great sounding food and drink options - it's tough to go wrong! I tried the pan de bono (and took several home), almond cake, and an iced pistachio latte. Everything was outstanding and beautiful to boot. Service was so nice. Free parking, free wifi, clean bathroom. I highly recommend a visit if you find yourself in Haymarket, or are looking for a great coffee shop to work...

I started my morning with the espresso and pandebono with guava. The coffee bean left a beautiful taste on the back of my tongue. The pandebono takes me back to Colombia.
My next adventure was a black coffee with A Thousand Leafs. I love my coffee black so that you can taste the flavor of the beans. The thousand leafs was flaky, the Carmel was not to sweet and the filling was creamy. So delightful!
I finished my morning with an iced coffee and some baby pandebonos.
1971 is the coffee cafe to come visit and...
