Just returned from a 4 night stay. From reading the reviews we were aware before checking in there wasn't an elevator and there could be noise from the freeway. I called ahead to confirm our reservation and to mention we'd be a late check in. The nice lady who took my call also brought up there wasn't an elevator. After chatting and mentioning we'd like a quieter part of the hotel she assigned us a room on the second floor facing the parking lot. Upon arrival and checking in, we couldn't be happier. We were in room 207 and heard zero noise from the freeway or anywhere else for that matter. No noise from above us or below although hotel was full. Room 207 is conveniently located just up the stairs from the Continental Breakfast room. We had brought our own cereal as again, from reading the reviews, we knew the breakfast offerings were minimal. For us it turned out to be perfect. They have a machine which dispenses Minute Maid Orange, Apple and Cranberry juice along with a cool late model coffee machine that dispenses every kind of coffee drink you can imagine and uses fresh beans too. Activia yogurt, milk, various pastries, granola bars, bread (toaster available too), fruit loops, raisin brand and one other cereal that I can't remember along with a waffle machine were available...along with bananas and oranges. The breakfast room along with the entire hotel looks great and feels almost brand new although the renovation was a few years ago. And the real shocker, if you travel on a regular basis...they have maid service every day if you like. We chose to skip that but it was a nice touch for those who like that. There was a refrigerator (one you can actually use, not filled with overpriced mumbo jumbo), coffee machine and microwave in the room as well. And a big thing for me is water pressure....I was shocked to see the newly renovated shower, bath combo had a handheld, overhead and the traditional shower head....3 in total and all with GREAT water pressure. I've gotten so use to staying at places where the water barely trickles out, this was a true surprise....and a pleasant one at that. Overall, we loved our stay, would stay here again in a second and would recommend it. Our stay was a Thursday thru Monday....the price we paid was much lower than other places for that same time period (we booked through Sams Club Travel) and the value was WAY higher than we expected. Location is great, we were minutes away from all the shops and restaurants along with numerous wineries and even a casino...River Rock Casino...everyone we interacted with was helpful and kind. Great job Hotel Vinea! P.S. No I don't work there, I'm not related too or know anyone who does, I'm not paid for posting this and have no...
Read moreMy dispatcher book this room paid for this room for 3 nights went to check into this room and the normal things they want my ID and a credit card so they can have on file for incidental things like damages or stolen TV or whatever they take down your credit card information for. All I had was my ATM card and he said they don't accept ATM cards credit cards only I called my dispatcher my dispatcher said when he gets into the office at 8 a.m. he will fax them over a copy of his credit card and in the time being I just wanted to be able to get into my room and get some sleep after being up on duty on the job for 16 hours and that was just on the job not counting the hours that I was up before the job or even after the job. It was 5 in the morning and this guy said I couldn't stay on the property I had to leave the property until he got my credit card information the room was already paid for I'm supposed to be staying 3 nights all I needed to do was get at least 6 to 8 hours sleep get up and go take care of this I know my dispatcher would have faxed over all information he would have contacted the hotel and everything even before I woke up it would have all been taken care of but this little Napoleon complex guy behind the counter was looking at me like I was a POS looking for a free handout I felt so degraded I wanted to drive my truck back to the yard tell my boss I quit and don't ever ever f** use that hotel my dispatcher ended up calling me back to see if they let me in the room I told him that the guy told me to go out to the street and wait until 8 my dispatcher finally got up and out of his bed emailed the information that the guy needed and he was reluctant to even let me in with that information I'm hurt I feel belittled and I feel that guy behind the counter is prejudice against people that have dirty work clothes on so if you go in there don't be wearing your dirty work clothes have a Louis Vuitton handbag have your Rolex on and even then if somebody had a Louis Vuitton or Rolex they would just stay across the street or anywhere else besides that grease stain out of a hotel the sheets were dirty I could see the grease stain where the last person slept in that bed the toilet had a poop stain in the back were somebody had a very bad moment there was still brown stuff on the toilet seat the room was dirty the service was crummy the hotel stinks smells like curry powder and bad cheese I would highly suggest sleeping in the back of the stranger's car before staying at that hotel it would be less...
Read moreThis hotel was recently renovated, and as far as I could tell the renovations are complete.
Pros: Staff was very accommodating, working with us to get early check in as well as making sure we had rooms on the first floor as some in our party have issues with stairs. Beds were comfy, especially the oversized comforters. Sink was outside the bathroom which helps while getting ready with more than one person. Location is excellent, right off the freeway and just minutes from the town square. There are parking spots right outside the door which is convenient. No restaurant, but Door Dash, GrubHub, etc will deliver right to your door. Also there’s a nice coffee shop across the street and a nice martlet close by with great food.
Cons: No elevator and only a few rooms on the first floor. No real lobby or gathering space if you’re with a group and want to congregate outside your rooms. The outdoor seating area did not look very inviting. There were a few ants in our room, but I also had ants at the Westin in San Francisco so I don’t blame the hotel for this. I’m sure guests leaving food around wouldn’t help. I would hope they have pest control come and check. The AC in the rooms is controlled by remote control. Our remote was missing so we had to manually turn it on or off. It never cooled as well as we would have liked as I need it very cold when I’m getting ready.
Ultimately, I would stay here again if...
