The front desk lady was absolutely horrible at her job! She had very poor customer service skills, zero people skills, and was lacking in training as to everyday operations within her own hotel! Came here for a relaxing getaway on my Best Western rewards points with my family and the second we get to the room I started recieving phone calls. "Sir you dont have enough points for the room, I need you to exit the room immediately and come to the office". What is this middle school? Am I in trouble? Are you serious??? I told her I would call Best Western Reservations and do her job for her because obviously she made a mistake. After I told her let me call Reservations and hung up she immediately called the room back 3 seperate times in the matter of 5 seconds apart demanding us to exit the room! This is outrageous! My stress level and frustration was rising! Finally my girlfriend was able to calm her down enough and allow me to have a conversation with Reservations. They explained to me, "No Sir do not exit the room, I ll call her right now, please hold the line". After a minute Reservations gets back on the phone with me and apologized for her behavior. But, you have to understand, people work very hard 365 days a year at 5 days 40+ hours a week, out of that time we are only allotted 2 weeks vacation time. In the hospitality industry you have to understand this! So the very limited time that we choose use our vacation time we get treated like this?? Jamming me up and demanding me to exit a room that I spent hundreds of dollars in rewards points and earned night stays??? You going to demand me out of the hotel room I payed for with my hard earned money? On top of all this we never recieved our gift bag for rewards members that was promised to us! The truly most unsettling part of all this was the lady at the front desk never even called back to apologize for her hostile behavior towards us! I felt threatened when she kept calling and demanding we exit the room immediately! This was the worst experience I have EVER had at a best western hotel.. This is also my first stay at Sure Stay BW, maybe they have differernt requirements to be part of the BW family, or the...
Read moreSure Stay? More like Sure Sucks! Welcome to the most handi-cap unfriendly place to stay ever. I'm not speaking of shower handles or doors that a wheelchair can fit through, this is on more of a anti-human level. Had some business in Hollister. Planned on staying there one day, family got the flu real bad & ended up staying a week. I have a crippled wife & an autistic 20yr. Old son. Suffered high fever for days. Can't recall it all. At 4a.m. one night manager knocks on door stating that there were complaints of someone knocking on door loud. I told him I couldn't recall. Said I was sorry if so & that we were all running high fever, Told me not to lie or argue with him & that he would call police & have us removed. I said sorry & he left. The next morning I dragged myself to the office to extend as my son was sicker then ever, & was told that I was on the "do not extend list & must leave. Despite my plee. So I dragged my sick family to the car & cleaned up as much as possible before going for deposit. I always usually check bedding & towels & prewash any thing as necessary, as my son sometimes will get a little spot of ca-ca on the sheet, or drop a towel on the floor & it gets black marks on it. But could not this time as I was soo ill. When manager (jerk) returned from scouring room with fine tooth comb, he told me "sign this", and told me he was returning 56.00 of my 150.00 as there were stains on the sheet & towels, & that my wife only reported two guests & my 20yr. Old son made three. I was under the impression that anyone under twenty-one stayed free. We are platinum members by the way. So, I signed, said" thanks for stickin' it to me, my crippled wife & autistic son & left very upset. Please,in support of all disabled persons everywhere, do not support this establishment. Someone must stand up for us! Thanks for your time & consideration. Power to the people. A little Love & kindness could have remedied this whole...
Read moreThis is not a 2-Star hotel. Unless you're on an extremely tight budget, or are looking for a place to sleep for the night instead of your car, keep away. I highly recommend that you give serious consideration to the other lodging options in the area. They have got to be better than this place.
The towels were worn and rough. The washcloths were actually STAINED. The towels were well past their service life and should have been replaced long ago. On our king size bed there were four small square pillows. When you sleep you have to keep your head perfectly placed in the center of the pillow and they’re useless for comfortably propping yourself up to watch TV in bed.
As bad as the above, the worst part was that our door would not latch in the morning after we opened it. I pushed as hard as I could to get it to latch to no avail. I reported the problem to the front desk and it apparently was a problem that maintenance had already tried to correct prior to our arrival. We checked out before maintenance attempt to fix it again because we couldn’t wait to get out of there.
In summary, this hotel is not up to the standards of Best Western. The quality and experience are more akin to a Motel 6/Super 8. Needless to say, we were very, very disappointed with our stay and WILL NOT stay at this hotel...
