Food was edible. No flavor. The shrimp cocktail was the best thing for the price. There are hardly any chips in the already small bowl, and they charge for more chips. Horchata was $8 and no refills. If they gave refills on sodas, we wouldn't know because the waitress never gave one or asked if we wanted one. When I see Authentic in the name of Mexican food, I expect spicy, busting with flavor. At least the jalapeño didn't disappoint me. Spend $100 on 3. Probably won't be back. But that just me. Staff was friendly, just not very engaged, and the place wasn't that busy. Now I think I know why.

Loved the food. They have authentication agua de horchata, which they make from scratch (not the store bought powders). I had the camarones a la diabla, and they were actually spicy and cooked perfectly. In my opinion, these are hands down the best camarones a la diabla that I’ve had at any Mexican restaurant. I’ve had camarones a la diabla at many other “authentic” Mexican restaurants, and they are always sweet or the sauce tastes like it came straight out of a can. However, these were very tasty and had the right amount of spiciness 🌶. Definitely recommend this restaurant!

Definitely better than average Mexican food with good quality and flavor. The mole was spicy but not too spicy and even the rice and refried beans were noticeably above average. They're in the corner of the strip mall at 191 San Felipe Rd. I'm putting this place into my contacts list for the next time we're at Pinnacles.

This place is HORRIFIC. Read this before dining here. I'll explain why we have vowed to NEVER return.

We have eaten here a dozen times in the last year. It started out decent enough to come back. But slowly, it's been getting worse and worse. We have always had horrific service here for dinner. Forget getting a refill on your water or getting a refill of chips and salsa. They "forget" every time. There have been times that we have had to ask for a refill on water four times before actually getting it. They are never extremely busy and by the time you finish this review, you'll understand why.

The food is decent, when you receive what you are looking for. Vegan here: we do have to customize our options, which require a little more attention to detail from the cooks. I ordered a burrito, my wife ordered the loaded nachos. My burrito was simple: meat, rice and beans. I asked for it without the most expensive ingredients, meat and just for good measure, I also ask for no-cheese and no sour cream. My wife's loaded nachos come with meat, cheese, beans and guacamole. She asked for it without cheese, without meat, and no sour cream. She even asked if she could substitute out the meat for rice instead? No. That would be an additional $6. So no rice it was.

What we received...... a plate of chips covered in cheese. My wife simply told the waitress that she asked for the loaded nachos without cheese and she argued back to tell her that loaded nachos were not even on the menu, which of coarse she verified with a menu and discovered that they were. Ultimately, she was able to receive what was ordered.

What I received was a burrito full of beans and rice. Or so I thought..... until the 2nd bite where it was full of cheese.

Okay, no big deal, they swapped it out and got me a burrito full of beans with very little rice. It was decent, no complaints but nothing to write home about for $11.

What happened next is what made us say that we will NEVER return to this place, EVER. As we were sitting there, the teenage lady sitting right behind us began to throw up. It started with one. Then it happened again and almost seemed like it just wouldn't stop. All over the table, the floor, it was everywhere! For the record, they had just entered, so it wasn't caused by the restaurant by any means but how the restaurant handled it was beyond disgusting.

They made the mother clean it up with napkins. They wouldn't clean it up. It took the mom 15 minutes, while others were still eating just a few feet away. This was not a mess for a napkin. It required multiple mops and bleach. The servers just hung around in the kitchen until the mess was cleaned up by the mom. No sanitation at all. That made us think about what other "accidents" happened on the table we ate at before, and around the restaurant. If they are not sanitizing the entire area with patrons present, how much less are they doing when nobody is watching? This place is on our "UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES" will we return.

If you're thinking about Mexican food, please try any of the other 60 Mexican restaurants in town. La Villa De Jerez seems like a good option if you're looking for a...

Had to update my review from below, that was 6 years ago. The servers still the same, no connection with the customers. She brought all 3 plates and did not bring the 4th. Called her to the table so many times, and she kept going back and to other tables. She didn't take the last order until 15 min later and dared to say we came last. I've been really coming her for convenience, but one person really kills the atmosphere there, and that's the older lady with curly hair in a bun......

.....

....Food is delicious. Service is not best not once did the ladies stop by my table to ask if we were doing good and obviously we needed something . Do NOT eat outside lots of flies cant even eat comfortable, and it smells like fish? Anyway, it has a family environment and a super tranquil good menu. I would...

Sad, to write such poor review. The food here is good. I been coming here for 4 years now.

If you are ready to blindly pay for a bill with out any explanation, this is your place. Something about this doesn’t sit well with me. Based on my own calculation, which I had to guesstimate because I was not given a detailed receipt, goes as follows:

Reg Breakfast Burritos: $6.50 Side of Rice and Beans: $8 1 Chicken Sope: $4- update actual cost $6 Large horchata: $6

Total of my bill: $26

Based on the food portions, the prices are not reasonable.

Unfortunately, I can not post a picture of the beans and rice side. I can guarantee you it is...
