It is so hard writing a negative review, especially when there are actually some redeeming qualities to speak of in a place. So please read this full review and take from it what you will.
We try not to actually visit very often for multiple reasons, even though customer service is pleasant enough, when we do visit, we often have quite a few international packages to send. We are usually told contradictory information (to the website, and then to each other) regarding mailing requirements which make our visits long therefore holding up the flow of service and seriously frustrating us. As stated above, we've never had an unpleasant person, everyone tries to be helpful, but being given the runaround or told to come back is very annoying.
Our MAJOR gripe and the reason for this review is actually to do with delivery of mail and the new attitude (or lack of) to service.
About a month ago, our registered mail stopped being delivered to the door for a signature and delivery. We began getting the "sorry we missed you" card in the mail box. NO one was coming to the door to check if I was home (which I was) on 3 out of 4 of these delivery notices. We arranged redelivery as I cannot get to the office often, and on one of these occasions, it never showed. I had to manually chase the package and someone had to hand deliver it after trying for days to get through on the Hollister USPS phone line which is given for this purpose on the card. The phone is busy. Always.
Today, we got another "sorry we missed you" card, even as I stood in the window and watched the van drive past. I cannot even arrange redelivery, as there is no tracking number recorded!! Again, the phone is busy right until close.
Extremely unhappy with this new attitude to mail delivery. I don't know if you are too busy, or if you short staffed, but this has a huge effect on a household who deal with mobility...

The post office worker that goes by the name Maria is absolutely unprofessional, speaks down to her own coworkers in front of a long line of customers, and gets an attitude with absolutely every single person she interacts with. At the end of the day she forgets she’s in a position where she has to provide customer service and if you can’t do the bare minimum of providing that then she needs to find another profession. Hollister post office is known by OTHER POST OFFICES IN OTHER LOCATIONS THAT THEY HAVE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. IF you don’t know how to communicate effectively then go work the back instead of dealing with customers. Ridiculous how people who live in Hollister would rather drive to gilroy or Morgan hill than deal with the rude employees in Hollister. Waited in line over 40 minutes all for MARIA not be able to wait 1 minute for me to write the address on the box I was sending. Everyone waits patiently for them but they don’t have the courtesy of letting you write an address that will literally take you less than a minute. Read moreWORST SERVICE EVER. Over the past 3 years at the same address, I have gotten IMORTANT AND LABLED mail WEEKS late, including bills. I NEVER get my packages on time. Even when there is clear labeling for 1 day or 2 day shipping I will get my packages up to a week after expected delivery, why pay extra if USPS still won't deliver for the PAID SCHEDULED delivery time. I have lost 2 packages to USPS not following directions on the shipping label. As I live in a more rowdy part of Hollister I have them leave delivery orders in the parcel box, or redeliver at the door if its too big and no one is home to answer the door. This Friday I bought a package with a GARUNTEED 1 day delivery from Amazon, I track the shipping, everything was perfect until it reached Hollister Post Office Saturday morning, it got there at 4:18am with plenty of time to be sent out on the truck. I GOT 3 NOTICES FROM USPS TRACKING DELAYING MY DELIVERY TO WEDNESDAY AUGUST 14TH FOR NO REASON?!?! Why?! I understand not being able to deliver Sunday but REALLY?!
