It was my daughter's 5th birthday and she was so excited to swim in the pool. The pool room was 65° and the water felt like the arctic.
My kids shivered their little butts off while I asked the front desk multiple times to turn the temp up. It never got warmer.
I shouldn't have even had to ask.. no one would have wanted to swim in those conditions. Why have amenities that are unusable?
Stayed in a "suite" which was a normal sized room with a couch shoved in the corner. It smelled like BO. My wife complained about it the whole time.
Kids ended up having to sit in the warm bathtub instead. I paid for amenities I couldn't even use. What should have been a fun family trip was just an annoyance.
Tired of hotels offering bottom of the barrel service and amenities for top dollar. I dont care how much youre saving on energy costs, penny pinching at your Guests expense is disrespectful. Dont stay here.
The elevator squealed and groaned like it wanted to drop us to our death, lady in the elevator with me was visibly shook.
What a joke.
*Edit, post reply by hotel....
Saw a man and his daughter a few days later shivering coming from the pool. I asked if it was warm. He quickly shook his head no and said it was freezing.
Seems most of your guests are not "comfortable" as you describe in your reply. EVERYONE IS FREEZING!!!! Im a 6ft 1 220lbs bearded man from northern Ohio, if im cold... everyone's cold.
Its not an "industry standard." I've never been in an indoor pool that cold. I have two kids, i regularly take them swimming, great wolf lodge, hotels, etc. Stop making things up. Did chat gpt write that for you?
If the pools temp cannot be altered, why did your employee say maintenance would turn it up? Just to get rid of me? Either youre lying about "no way to adjust the temp" or your employee was lying. If what you say is true (its not, everything has some sort of thermostat) then your employee telling the truth could have saved us an hour of shivering, waiting, thinking it would warm up.
Youre making yourself look worse...
Read moreStayed here for two days for a wedding in Hollister. This hotel was chosen and booked by the hosting family. I have travelled in over 25 countries and have stayed in many hotels in 3 continents. This Holiday Inn Express in Hollister is one of the very few hotels which I would remember for years. We were extremely pleased with the whole visit, from check in to breakfast to cleanliness. This was a new property and we enjoyed our stay. The lobby is spacious and have a modern look. Our room has adequate space and beds were very clean and comfortable. Bathroom was spacious and have all amenities. Breakfast has good selection and I appreciate the hot food items. I would definitely stay here again. The electric blinds in the room are very cool and once closed, the room gets really dark even during the day which makes it very easy to sleep in day time. The bed is comfortable, and the handicapped room is perfect for roll-in capabilities. Very modern room. Parking is directly outside the window of your room and you can see your vehicle parked, regardless of what floor you are staying. It is an easy access from the parking to the lobby, and luggage dollies are plentiful at the front door. If I ever need to stay near this location, I will not hesitate to choose this hotel. Had a great wonderful stay at this location. Highly recommend. Front staff was very welcoming and wonderful to deal with. I enjoyed every second of my stay. Liked the body-soap/shampoo dispensers. Great selection of channels on the TV, and the bed and linens were top rate. Towels were almost new and smelled so fresh. I would highly recommend Holiday Inn Express in Hollister and would definitely...
Read moreNot a fan! I travel a lot for work and normally stay in IHGs which are normally good. However, I will not stay here again.
I called ahead and asked regarding trailer parking (gooseneck). I was told we could park in the cul-de-sac (there was signage saying 3hr parking only, but everyone parked large vehicles out there) or if the back parking was open we could park parallel & take multiple spots, which we did. However, it was impossible to maneuver the truck/trailer out the exit. We had to back it all the way out of the back parking. The next night we parked in the cul-de-sac. EITHER WAY WE HAD TO PAY FOR PARKING! ONLY PLACE I HAVE EVER PAID TO PARK WAS LAS VEGAS.
One of our techs asked for a plug for the bathtub so she could take a bath. When she called to the desk they said they would look & get back to her. She didn't hear back, so an hour later she went to the desk & they told her they didn't have plugs for the tubs.....
We were sitting in their outdoor sitting area (in back, no seats in front of the hotel) & it was getting chilly. We asked if the gas fireplace back there could be turned on ......we were told it didn't work it was for looks only.....we assume the 2 bbqs were also for looks.
We saw a lot of police activity in that area which leads us to believe it is not a safe area of town.
I cannot say that the staff was very friendly or helpful. & next time I'm in that area working & can't get into my normal ihgs, I'll go a little further to...
