The location and groundskeeping of the property are excellent, and our first stay at Big Cedar a few years ago was top-notch. I can’t recall exactly which building or lodge we stayed in during that visit, but the building was much newer, and the room was twice the size of the one in this lodge. Unfortunately, this time around, our experience was not as pleasant.

On our first morning, we were woken up around 7 a.m. by what sounded like a herd of elephants above us. That night, around 11 p.m., the upstairs neighbors returned, and every footstep they made was unbelievably loud—almost as if they were about to come through the ceiling. At first, we thought it might be some kind of joke because they never stopped frantically running around their room until well after midnight, but after reading other reviews about similar noise issues, we realized this was a common problem in this particular building. As far as the room itself goes, it was small but adequately clean with no musty smell. It has an awkward window in the bathroom overlooking your beds from the toilet. We had 2 doubles, and the second double has to be pushed up against the wall/window. If you’re still considering this lodge, I recommend asking for a real valley view. We were placed in room 106, which faced a cliff and a narrow parking lot—not the most appealing view. Speaking of parking, it’s definitely limited and tight. If you have a larger vehicle, it will be a challenge to park, especially towards the end of the building like we were. Arriving late at night means you’ll likely end up parking at an inconvenient distance away. Hope this helps make a decision with your hard...

Ok, lots of glowing reviews but let's be honest, the rooms let this place down. I'm often told not to be too critical or picky, to which I reply that my ratio is just the right amount of critical to money spent.

Starting with the resort and facilities - they are outstanding. This is a beautiful setting and very relaxing. The shuttle request service is excellent and very convenient (all done through the special app). There's a plethora of restaurants on site, catering to different wallets. I can highly recommend the Buzzard Bar, it serves wonderful food. We were too tight to dine at the really expensive restaurants, so can't comment on these. The resort has lots on offer, and alone would get 5 stars, but the room. We'll...

The room was a disappointment for many reasons, which individually may not be a big thing, but the sum is greater. The papier-mâché walls do nothing to keep out the noisy American families staying next to us, and the room above is either being bulldozed, or Cirque du Soleil have moved in. The curtains are fused with the nets, affording no privacy or total darkness. A trip to the bathroom offers a shower engineered for the residents of Oz and a bathtub that wants to be in a funhouse. While doing the limbo, so I can get my upper torso wet, I don't need the tub to have the consistency of a pillow. The bed is comfortable but is a large trifle, the slightest movement is magnified. Still, the aircon works really well and the welcome basket of calories is a nice touch, as are the...

The room here was nice. 😊, with one issue. The room was fairly clean and quiet because it was slow season. You may need a noise reducer due to the motel type door system. The bathroom was clean and they gave you water and snacks upon arrival. The maid service came at a great time while we were out for the day and the view was amazing. We saw plenty of deer on the property, which my kids love. It is next door to a great photo op so make sure to walk to the side of the property. The room service was excellent. Great for a mama traveling alone and to be honest the bus service was great until it got busy and they could take up to 25 minutes so if you have inpatient children with you make sure to stay close to fun mountain. It was only a 15 minute walk down hill from us but was quite nerve wrecking at night…

We did have an issue with the ac. It was unplugged and didn’t work in our unit. It was cold outside so we faired well and I could have asked to be moved, but after carrying the stuff in with myself and two kids I just would rather be a little...

I agree with everything Lee Minnet said in their review. Very nice beautiful resort but the rooms at the Valley View are unimpressive for such a wonderful resort outside. We stayed over an extended weekend and first stayed in the smaller room and the transferred to the rooms with a kitchenette and patio. First complaint was the door did not completely seal so we had Mosquitoes coming in and this was in October where it got cold at night. Second the noise from the people above walking around was so loud I swear I thought they were going to fall through the ceiling. Third, for a room with a full size range and oven had a fridge half the size of the smaller room and it seemed larger since there was a pull out single bed couch while the kitchenette room just had two chairs and table. Would love to come back for the amenities and golf but hopefully the rooms will be majorly updated to match such a beautiful resort.

Very nice place to rest while visiting Big Cedar. The room was a bit dated and the carpet was atrocious, but it was otherwise clean and comfy. Lots of towels and there is a mini fridge in the room, along with a single cup coffee maker. I stayed here on my final night, after staying in a few other accommodations during my visit, I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have complimentary water bottles in the room, as the other places did. However, I did like that they go the extra mile during the holidays, and there was a Christmas tree in my room. I was in a room on the 1st floor, and you can definitely hear your "upstairs neighbors" walking around the kids running & jumping... My suggestion to the hotel is to get new carpet & do something about the akward window & curtain in the bathroom, that looks into the room.
