I don't know anything about management changes or really care. We actually were told about Coconuts Resort and lost our way after traveling all day and actually stumbled onto it by sheer chance. Our map guide thingy hubby uses wasn't working and we were exhausted. Took one look at the beach and thought hope we can stay here. Went to their office mid afternoon and nobody was there apart from some guests by the pool who informed us that there had been some changes and where to go. So we ended up at another building 5 minutes away, shown what was available and was delighted to pick a beach front condo. We originally booked for three nights but extended, as loved the peace and quiet plus beauty of this area which we had never been to before. Got a great deal, so not sure where some of these high prices spoken about are coming from? Also, our culture respects any place that removes shoes before entering a household and considering we were right on the beach, thought it was an excellent and thoughtful idea what with Covid horrors at present plus these condos must have a high turn around of traffic, although we have seen others that just don't care, but we find this very important from where we come from to be respectful and treat another place even a rented one such as this as our own and try to leave it as we found it, which back to this resort was delightful and so calming on our nerves, having driven for hours. As stated, know nothing from what I have recently read here about changes in Management. Suffice to say, the people we booked with were very professional and efficient and gave us plenty of great tips on the area, dining and what to see and do. Thx for the free tram tip, that was great fun.||||Wonderful views, slow, carefree soft walks, not many people around at this time of year, suited us fine. Had everything we needed in the condo, very comfortable, tasteful and loved the Queen solar lady waving to us. Hope to return without the worry of this dreadful virus again. ...
Read moreI wish I had read the other awful reviews before renting from these people, but now I have another awful review to add to the list. ||||We rented at the Coconuts, on 73rd Street in Holmes Beach on Anna Maria Island. Our first thought upon entering was "how cheaply can someone furnish and fix up a rental?" and now I see.||||The principal shock was the difference between the gorgeous photo posted on the website and the actual conditions as found. Pics attached. ||||The general cleanliness and maintenance was poor; the sliding glass door to the pool just outside would neither lock nor stay all the way shut, causing the door alarm to go off. We had to prop a chair in the door track to keep it closed. To secure the door scrap wood was cobbled together along with a random scrap metal rod. ||||The door track was littered with debris and the cheap curtains showed signs of mold. We notified management that these were health and safety problems but they took no actions. ||||The kitchen was minimally outfitted, in keeping with their apparent philosophy of How Cheaply Can I Do This, not providing even salt and pepper. We bought some and left it there for the next poor sucker to rent here.||||The bathroom door was vintage 1970's and the door knob faulty, locking me in once or twice. The weather stripping on the dishwasher was hanging loose and the interior was stained and nasty. The only piece of furniture in the living room was cheap, old and uncomfortable; no end tables were provided and no other...
Read moreWe stayed at Coconuts Poolside #102 from 4/1-4/8, 2023 the couch was switched out, which was terribly uncomfortable and bad for my husband’s back, and new one promised on day 5 and never was delivered sliding glass door alarm, which is mandatory due to pool facing, never fixed to satisfaction and had to disalarm, preventing us from using patio door out to pool for 4 days, as well as going off several times disturbing other guests at 1:30AM. Maintenance person came at least 3 times. disgusting mildew on shower curtain prevented us from showering for 2 days until new one delivered missing TV remote in living room and no batteries in bedroom TV remote, causing interruption with repair person to fix dirty patio window never came to clean when said they would call house cleaning dirty sheet left over from prior renter, asked to remove by housekeeping that never came frying pan unusable due to coating missing, new pans delivered dishwasher in unusable format upon arrival causing maintenance to come and repair
All of these could have been prevented if their preparation/cleaning/maintenance team were doing their job in order to prepare the place upon our arrival.
After requesting compensation, we were offered $150, but in exchange for that we were not allowed to post any negative reviews. I chose to forgo the compensation so that I could alert future renters.
Wish I would had seen the reviews on the Better Business Bureau site...
