To everyone that saw my post 2 weeks ago about Anna Maria Beach Resort I retract everything I said. We paid for a 2 night stay, for 2 room- over $1600 this weekend, $600+ 2 weekends ago. One upset guest has ruined it for everyone. While at the pool today, we were playing old school music that everyone loves- from ice ice baby to sweet Caroline. Everyone at the pool was loving it, singing along and tapping there feet to it. One miserable guest decided to complain. Front desk came to us and said can you turn it down? Yes, of course, we’ll turn it down(she said she doesn’t care if we have it on, just turn down) fine. Apparently the same guest decided he still didn’t like that and made another complaint to front desk. Front desk comes out, we turn it off because what’s the point of a fight. This same guest is making comments as I am walking by to our room and I asked him what goes he want to hear because we’ll be glad to play it for him. His response was nothing but rude, he doesn’t care, it’s none of my business... ok fine again. Fast forward to a hour later, cops show up, ask us what happen, we tell him, he says this isn’t anything a cop needs to be called on. Ok great we’ll we’re going to go get showers, go to dinner, etc. The owner of this hotel decided they want to kick us off the property with NO REFUND, again over $1600. Needless to say, we’re leaving, not spending our last night here and will never return nor refer anyone back to your resort.
IN RESPONSE TO ANNA MARIA BEACH RESORT: We complied when management asked that the radio be turned down, as Aubrey said, the radio does not have to be turned off. The officer showed up and told us everything was fine, police should not have been called for this manner, etc. This police showed up as we were going to our room with our 2 year old to get ready for dinner. We were completely blindsided by a hard knock on our door stating we were to leave the property immediately. The right thing to do when it comes to the music being played would be to ask your guest that were at the pool at the time, was it bothering them because everyone but the one family liked it and were telling us that it was not right that we were told to turn it down. As far as the guest feeling "Threatened", we did not say anything vulgar to this specific guest. Another guest, that was not involved in our party, was calling the person that was complaining rude names and calling him out. There was nothing done to this person that was directing rude comments to the complaining guest. As far as smoking, we completely apologize but the contract we signed said nothing about vaping not being allowed. Once this was brought to our attention, we complied and there were no more instances of vaping occurring. We are completely appalled by how Anita Martinez treated us and gave us not a word to speak of anything that occurred and refused a refund or pulling cameras to see what...
Read moreA resort is meant to have amenities, entertainment, dining options, room service, some basic amenities by the pool deck such as water, an attendant or sunscreen. This “resort” is more of a 3 stars hotel. Not because it is poorly maintained, it’s actually in very good repair. But it lacks of everything what guests deserve when they are paying $912 for a room per night. At that price for what was delivered I give this hotel -5 stars. We did enjoy, but the experience and value was not delivered by the hotel. I find it absolutely wrong that there is no ice machine and that you have to drive .5 miles to their sister property to get your own ice… they give it to you from a chest freezer. How about if they get their own chest freezer (amazon has $100 options!)and they keep ice ready for their own guests so the inconvenience of driving is not even an option. No vending machines? No bar? No pool bar/service? Sad! TV had only 3 channels. Kidding me? We are not in the middle of Antarctica! Check out is 10am and check in is 4pm. Thank you for the early check in and late check out, we appreciate that this was accomodated. Still, I haven’t seen such an early check out and late check in from all my travels and 20 years managing and working at different hotels myself. It takes away from the expetience and the time you can actually relax l (minua the time going to sister properties to get ice or going to mini marketa to buy baaic thinga like a coke, which I trust you should offer as a basic offeting for your guests who just drove X hours to your hotel (we drove 4hrs to find out you guys dont have any F&B)). The room was spotless and nicely decorated. Pillows are incredibly thick for such a soft mattress. Bed sinks in the middle. Now, selling water in the room at $12 a bottle? No comments. If you were to sell at $6-8 probably you’d sell so much more volume and capitalize on water sales. Opportunistic approach considering you don’t sell anything. It should be the other way around, offer 2 complimentary bottles of water like most hotels worldwide do, and the rest charge on consumption. Not very hospitable. Pool deck repair and beach access is great. Underused, could benefit from basic f&b and service… again… at $912 some water dispensers would be welcome! Oh yeah, I have to buy water because hospitality is not a thing at this “resort” so tab water is not offered. Anna Maria Island overall is beautiful. Beautiful beach and small eateries across the island. I trust this hotel can or eventually will do better. In the meantime I wouldn’t stay here again and I would enquire on any of the above things before...
Read moreThis is THE place to stay! The value and luxury that you receive from your stay here surpasses expectations! Beginning with the rooms, the fantastic layout offers a view of the ocean from almost every room (really!) and every room has a generous balcony. They have many room options too, which caters to almost any needs and group size. We had the room with 2 queen beds (room 213 actually) which is second floor and a view of the ocean. It is so, nice. Better than nice! The decor is upscale yet relaxed with a modern beach vibe. There is a toaster by the way-haha, I wasn’t aware and wish I had brought some bagels for the beach. Also the room had a really nice deep tub/shower mix which made for an extra special bath! And lastly, my bed was phenomenal! The moment you pull up on the grounds you feel at peace. It’s removed from the ‘main’ road, so it’s already quieter. It’s a smaller facility, so you have fewer people on the property anyway. I couldn’t believe how truly relaxing and private your experience can be! The pool is more like a 10 star ⭐️ pool, due to the spa like design and additional chairs, couches and landscaping surrounding it. There is a fantastic jacuzzi tub that is spacious too! Plenty of space, and no loud music so you truly are able to rest! The ocean access is unparalleled! There is a private beach just feet from the hotel grounds! They have lounge chairs already on the beach and umbrellas available upon request, and they even had a small container for boogie boards, sand castle building tools and a few other toys!! SO NICE! The price is completely worth it, I mean it. We had planned to do more tourist activities but stayed on the grounds almost the entire time because we couldn’t get enough of the true relaxation available. This is an easy choice! Do yourself a favor and stay here!
For management: My ONLY request, would be to help the staff have a better understanding of the trolley pick up locations and how to access them from the resort. My friend requested the information....and all 3 staff members struggled to explain it. Since it states on the website there is a trolley available on AMI, it seemed appropriate to expect the staff to have more information for us from that specific...
