White Sands Beach Resort - Anna Maria Island — Hotel in Holmes Beach

This is basically a refurbished motel by the beACH. fEW AMENITIES MAKES US QUESTION "rESORT". dOE HAVE HEATED SWIMMING POOL. kIDS IN POOL WERE SCREAMING AND WHEN WE ASKED OWNERS TO DO SOMETHING THEY JUST SAID IT WAS THE PARENTS RESPONSIBILITY NOT THEIRS. dIDN'T SEEM TO MATTER IF OTHER GUESTS WERE BOTHERED. wAS QUOTED A PRICE AND AGREED TO IT IN mAY OF 2022. iN oCTOBER OF 2022 i RECEIVED NOTICE THAT PRICE INCREASED BY $150? wHEN i ASKED HOW THEY AGREE TO A PRICE AND THEN JUST RAISE IT MONTHS LATER, THE RESPONSE i RECEIVED WAS "bECAUSE WE CAN"! wAS TOLD THEY WOULD GIVE REFUND IF WE WANTED TO CANCEL. wE ALREADY HAD BOOKED OTHER EXCURSIONS SO WE BIT THE BULLET AND PAID MORE. fIRST TIME THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO US. nOT A GOOD BUSINESS PRACTICE. nOT SURE WHAT THE LURE IS FOR THIS MOTEL TYPE ACCOMODATIONS. tHE ONLY THING THEY DO IS HAVE YOU PUT USED TOWELS IN BASKET, LEAVE OUTSIDE AND BEFORE THE DAY IS THROUGH YOU RECEIVE FRESH REPLACEMNTS tHEY DO NOT CLEAN THE INSIDE OF THE ROOMS, YOUR ON YOUR OWN. wE STAYED IN uNIT 5 WHICH IS NEXT DOOR TO THEIR STORAGE CLOSET. sLIDING DOORS ON ROLLERS CAN BE HEARD EVERY TIME SOMEONE USES THEM. cAN HEAR CABINETS OPEN AND CLOSING AND a/c UNIT TURNING ON AND OFF. nO NAPPING DURING THE DAY AS THEY ARE ALWAYS INSIDE STORAGE. sLEEPING IS NOT EASY IN UNIT 5. tHEY SAY THAT GENERATIONS OF FAMILYS HAVE STAYED HERE. nOT SURE WHAT THE ATTRACTION IS. i...

We stayed for a week (July/August 2019). By far one of the BEST family vacation spots we've been to. White Sands Beach Resort is a very well maintained old school beach motel. The rooms are large (we had a 2 bedroom for 2 adults and 3 kids and had plenty of room). They have a small kitchen that comes with all the essentials (even a blender for beach drinks). The rooms were very clean and well maintained. The A/C can be ice cold if you like it cold at night (like I do).||The pool area is big enough for the limited number of rooms and kids could play freely. The pool is clean and they have shuffleboard and a bags game (cornhole) set up. The beach is only a short walk from all the rooms (but 1 and 2 are right on the beach). ||The stretch of Holmes Beach the White Sands Beach is on is pristine white sugar sand with lots of shells (and sharks teeth!) For the kids to find. The water was clear and warm and not very wavy (perfect for kids and adults). ||In summary, this place is a treasure of all the good things about old school Florida. We left out phones in the room (even our teenage daughter)...
