This review is based solely on the host we had, Tomomi. She was incredibly kind and although our stay did not work out as planned, she was quick to accommodate a refund and was very polite about the entire situation. This bed and breakfast has a ton of potential, and just needs a bit more love in regards to some moths and mold in the bathroom. Unfortunately with me being very pregnant, we ended up not staying due to those reasons. Again though, we can not say enough kind things about the family that resides here and Tomomi who assists with guests. All were so nice and understanding. The landscaping was also incredible on property.

Siamo stati a marzo, ci ha soddisfatto in pieno. Atmosfera molto accogliente e staff premuroso.

The location is beautiful with mature landscaping that is taller then the hour and adds to the vibrant frequency of a natural setting with beautiful views and natural surroundings. The pool is well maintained and with the waterfall it adds to the mood of relaxation. I learned as time was spent majority at this location for me to work and relax. There is so much potential and as a guest I wish I knew how to book an apointntment for the services taken place at the Salon and Acupuncture. Their is no menu for food and those staying a week and other guests were asking the same questions as myself as to not knowing what food was available or when. The owner Mark unfortunately is controlling and asked me to not speak while on the phone with my Mom during my stay twice! Interrupted conversations and made my stay uncomfortable at the end! The lack of rules as I was in the area for eating and during the time I paid to stay and work! No regards to my time or value of me as a guest whatever a low value towards women and that was most unfortunate to witness an owner not only unpredictable, unpleasant and degradation of women I witnessed made my experience tainted. The atmosphere as the woman owner believes she is having memory issues and Mark the other owner controlling her was unbelievable and unbearable to witness. The house is absolutely beautiful and with more attention to detail for guests are needed as disrespecting others like myself an educated woman I would not recommend interacting with Mark one of the owners as he made clear from the moment I walked in before even getting checked in or paid for my stay. The toxic masculinity he brings to a house of women who he claims both have memory issues according to him brings my score lowered. The parking is an issue as having delivery or picked up is not complaint for those with disabilities or guests as they get blocked in with no way to easily communicate issues. Mark told me I come into the home as they are all unvacinted and I felt Awkward with the way he worded his speech talking down to me each interaction. I put four stars because as long as you don't mind getting whatever they serve during the short window and expectation to not hang around as he asked me to go put and didn't understand the concept I was paying to injoy the atmosphere and liked that no one else was their in retrospect I resize it is because he creates an impact as an owner for guests to feel like they are unwelcome! The gate out back it metal and the whole back yard is caged in for their ten cats and many dogs he explained which for safety is good except in case a fire it is dangerous as no key or way to unlock in an emergency! What felt safe at first started to feel like an emotionally free space got twisted as the more time their two nights was to much for the space allowed to speak or be welcomed. If new owners one day I would visit with proper maintenance of expectations and communications that are business oriented and professional! I was asked not to go outside at night because of lighting and after it rained another worker was discouraging me from going outdoors. The whole point for me was...

Home constructed in 1919 and converted into a bnb some time ago. Unfortunately, the previous owner was put out of business by covid and left this place in poor condition. Which is not obvious at first because it LOOKS beautiful. The current owner has been here 3-4 years. Night 1, first room “Davies”, third floor: Beautiful views of Downtown skyline. However, the AC was not cooling, the toilet (water) was turned off so not usable. Hot water to sink also turned off because faucet would not shut off and needed repair. I asked the innkeeper for another room and thought, why would she put me in a “non-functioning” room. Night 1, second room, third floor: The only room available (with working AC) was her son’s room (also on the 3rd floor) which was hastily cleaned and I moved in. No shower (tub only) but hey, the toilet and sink worked and the AC was cold. Bed very comfortable. Night 2 and 3 no issues. I will note that the breakfast was a big disappointment. No eggs available due to avian flu, but, Safeway had eggs in abundance. Pancakes weak (no eggs) and oatmeal was instant and also very week. But hey, I didn’t come here for the breakfast. Day 4, meltdown: While taking my afternoon siesta, I hear a noise and THERE WAS A RAT RUNNING ACROSS THE FLOOR! Talk about freaked out! I found the innkeeper and told her about “my friend”. She admitted she had seen rats on the property. She also said she had heard noises in the 3rd floor crawl space but thought they were birds or “something”! So why wouldn’t you call a professional and check this out? Night 4, third room, second floor: She offered me the best room in the house and I moved into it very bummed. The bed was not so good and the room was cool but no remote for the AC so it blared away all night. I could also see the AC vents were filthy with black residue. After a restless night I packed first thing in the morning and realized this room is directly below the “rat room” on the 3rd floor. That’s when I heard the rats above in the crawl space. I am so out of here!! This innkeeper is obviously in WAY over her head. I don’t think she is a bad person but she needs to find another line of work. I am contacting the Honolulu...

I booked 5 nights and took the risk before knowing what I was getting into. To be fair, the room could be adequate for many travelers. My problems with the space:

Safety and security were not good enough for me. Check in did not involve checking ID, there was no front door secure lock to the whole building, and the room lock was a standard house key. Even though the neighborhood feels safe, the facility did not allow me to feel secure enough. The biggest reason for me taking time to give this review is, there is no where to file a complaint. No refunds, no manager-like person available on site (although there were staff on call, when I voiced my concern, they seemed like it was out of their control), so I felt like there was no one to take my concerns and find a resolution. I’ve also tried reporting the situation to Agoda, but because of the “no refunds” policy, the customer service chat sent me into an endless loop that resulted in the feeling that there was no way to have my concerns heard and addressed. I called all phone numbers available and emailed the hotel with no reply over the last 18 hrs, so finally resorted to booking another hotel and creating this negative review. The B&B was in a Victorian house and the room, hallways, stairs with no elevator and bathroom felt more like a youth hostel. There was a small community fridge in the hallway and pitchers of drinking water, again safety is an issue with open access to everyone. Room had a chair but not a workspace with a desk. Small 24” tv. Community laundry facilities, I missed breakfast which was between 7-8:30am.

This is not a horrible place, but safety, security and lack of higher management presence has been missing. The strict no refund policy is really a pain, as I need to leave the island earlier than my check out date and there is still no way to communicate this or get any money back. I would NOT...
