This is an email I emailed people about at UH Manoa:
If I wanted to take an online class I would not register and pay $50,000+ money online for a year in HAWAII. I would just take a least expensive course. I am paying with my own loan money. And I should add that. my family contribution is zero and so I cannot keep affording to lose out on colleges. I have never heard of a college that chooses classes for students. If I wanted to choose a language class it would be spanish. If I wanted to take an online class I would not have paid $800.00 for dorming. People are just taking advantage of other people now a days and it isn't ethical or fair and UH MANOA wasted my time. I was waiting for this program for a long time. On top of all of this, my information was stated that I lived at 410 Yale which is not my address it is my husband's mother's address. So I want to let you know that some of my private information was probably sent to their address. I did not put their address down at UH MANOA when I applied. If I did it was a mistake. Now these people who are my inlaws probably have information about me I do not want them to have. Just because they are in my inlaws does not mean they should know anything about me. It does not mean anything they could be human traffickers for all I know. And UH MANOA is the worst college ever for all of this I am experiencing. I applied for Volunteering and I can schedule that after many people have already scheduled it. Also I tried applying for a job and I can't even get a call back or anything. Plus UH Manoa had a negative impact on my husband and his career and I have to rely on my husband. If people need to be checked for health they have to be able to be on the campus. So I can move heavy things but I cannot register for a class? Also I want to take my placements on campus when I have reliable internet. Also- I get a FASFA offer from UH Maui but not UH Manoa? But for UH Manoa I get housing? That seems perverse. And I did everything correctly for FASFA. I worked helping people get FASFA. And now all of a sudden UH MANOA is not giving me FASFA? I...

Peace be upon you,
I hope you are doing well and in good health and happiness. I wanted to share with you a heartfelt message—an invitation to reflect upon the greatest blessing God can grant a person: the guidance to Islam.
Islam is not a religion for Arabs or a specific nation; it is a universal message from God to all mankind. It calls for worshiping God alone, without partners, and teaches peace, justice, mercy, and kindness to others. As God says in the Qur’an:
“Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in the best manner.” (Surah An-Nahl, 16:125)
Islam is the religion of pure nature—it fills the heart with peace, gives life meaning and purpose, and promises eternal happiness in the hereafter. I sincerely invite you to read about Islam from authentic sources, and to reflect upon the Qur’an and the life of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. You may find in it the truth and peace your heart has long been searching for.
May God enlighten your heart, guide you to the truth, and open your soul to faith.
With sincere respect...
Read moreIf you're here to do a PhD in a world-class department in your particular field, like me, it's a 5. For a regular undergrad degree, I would say it's a 2. Only worth it if you're local and want to save money by living at home. The facilities are run-down, and not just in the arts buildings; the dorms are full of roaches and drug use, the layers of bureaucracy are a nightmare -- literally, my prof had to fill out two forms to order a pizza, and it took two months to set up "direct deposit" for my on-campus job (defined as the checks being mailed to my department, which mails them to the bank). The NATURAL SURROUNDINGS, on the other hand, are GORGEOUS, and the people of Hawai'i are fascinating. ... I did my MA in a world-class uni with the best of facilities, and it came with its own set of problems: 50% tuition hikes for international students over 3 years, with international tuition already 3x domestic tuition; the uni president was forced by the board to resign after only a year; the housing/living cost was exorbitant. No place is perfect and life is what...
