Llanorado Lodge & Bait Shop — Hotel in Horseshoe Bay

We wanted to take a long weekend trip with friends we don't see much. We found llanorado online & decided to try staying with them because they had all we were looking for - "immaculately clean cabins", "updated cabins", lake side cabins, fishing, swimming & a family style resort. Well, there is fishing but that's about the only thing that matches the description. Our cabin was supposed to be for a family of 4 (1 teen, 1 preteen & 2 adults) but was obviously for 2! The sink had food in it, it smelled old, the shower was DISGUSTING-so bad that we had to buy bleach to clean it ourselves (there was even an old nasty wash cloth hanging on the shower rod. The "fully furnished" cabin was so-so as far as dishes & cooking utensils. The cabin is literally off a highway, like 45-50'! No lake time sleeping in at this cabin, the loud engine-brakes will make sure you are awake all night.||There is a bait shop on-site but the prices 😲!! $3 For a small bag of ice, $7 for worms. Yikes, especially when I paid premium for my rinky cabin. About the Only nice thing I can say about the lodge is that the owners are nice & the fishing house is nice to stay out of the sun. The Game warden & Sheriff visit frequently (at least they did during our 3 day). ||Wasn't what I had expected or hoped for. ||||Would not recommend this place to anyone unless fishing is the only thing you are looking for. The only lake-side/view are the RV's that look to be permanent residents. In at least a couple of the RV's live, what appears to be, the owner's grandkids. I am all about family & appreciate a family owned business but the kids were running around the fishing dock, driving crazy on the golf cart nearly hitting us multiple times, playing with the minnows we had purchased, etc. Our kods are well behaved & it was others kids who stressed us out.||There is no swimming area except for the small area by the fishing dock. My kids were not allowed to swim with fish hooks, wasn't happening. ||||Overall the family owned business would be a great place for those without kids & who just want to fish. It is not a place of relaxation & comfort. I am not picky about lake experiences but I was so unhappy woth this experience that I felt it was necessary to do a review. I paid what I would have paid at a much nicer resort ON the lake, not the highway.||||*the pics are of cabin 8, the furthest from the lake & across from a permanent resident living in an RV & liked to stare at my teenage...

Steve G. When you pile the toilet full of human and dog feces, do not be surprised when it does not work (as you left it full of both). The microwave was replaced, as you requested. ||||The mattresses have been replaced with 10 inch memory foam mattresses. You requested to stay a month, and the only complaint you came to the office with was the microwave. And considering you got over 1/2 the rent off ($1500.00 compared to $3300.00) you still smoked in the cabins, left the cabin reeking of marijuana and whatever other items you smoked in there, and it took a month to get EVERYTHING cleaned back up and replaced!|||| You left the cabin in terrible condition. Way worse than what it ever could have been in. YOU PEED ON THE DINING ROOM CHAIRS! (BTW, they have been replaced). You also peed in the refrigerator, on the cabinets, and between the stove and cabinet. ||||The only complaints that were made, were made on the paper you wrote them on as you left, other than the microwave. ||||And you also knew that there was a family reunion booked for the final 3 days of your stay prior to you accepting the room. And YOU said that was fine. When we are not allowed to come in your cabin, and YOU are not cleaning up, you have to expect some bugs to make it in. But, ALL cabins are sprayed monthly for bugs with Ortho Home Defense. ||||The internet, you were told did not reach well down there very well prior to you accepting the room. We are however, getting Fiber Optic installed for all cabins, and the entire property. ||||PEOPLE LIKE YOU, are why we do not rent cabins...

The owners and managers are liars - especially the lady manager. This is the worst stay in any location in my 70 years of life. This place is roach infested, there is no cable tv or internet service. The traffic noise is abysmal, you cannot use the picnic tables or bbq pits as a result of traffic noise and exhaust fumes - the pits and tables are next to the highway. The toilet in my room stopped working after a heavy rain and they did not show in desire to fix it until I checked out, so I did, with 5 paid days remaining. Fair warning - this place is a dump. I cannot stress to anyone reading this how sorry the manager and owners are - I complained about the mattress and microwave and they refused to speak to me, even in passing, afterward. The manager is ignorant, sloppy and does not care about anyone or anything, except her family getting to use the internet so you can't. Again, NO internet and NO cable TV - you get old westerns and cartoons - only streaming channels that fail to stream for lack of internet. See my videos for proof.
