This was the worst motel I have ever stayed at in my entire life, no question. DO NOT STAY HERE! I cannot emphasize this enough. The entire property should be demolished or at least closed for MAJOR renovation. My ROOM WAS BROKEN INTO AND BURGLARIZED! I stayed there 1 night, left at 5 AM to go to the airport, came back at 8:45 AM, and there was broken glass on the floor next to the air conditioner and also outside the window. I stayed in room 11, first room at the end and the only room with access to the back window through the bushes. Someone broke the window, opened it, got in, stole my laptop bag with my WORK laptop, mousepad, and mouse. They took out my headphones and left them on the bed. They also stole my overnight bag which was a Marshall's reusable shopping bag with a Jones New York shirt in in it.||||I called police and they came and took a report and saw that there was blood on the light switch. I don't know if it was 1 person or more than 1 person. It was very scary. I hadn't taken a shower by then because I left so early so I did that and packed and talked to the police and left.||||The motel is awful. The manager disappeared. The cleaning guy doesn't speak English or Spanish, only Persian and uses google translate to communicate. The landline phone doesn't work. The closet door doesn't close tightly. A light bulb was missing. I saw a huge bug I had never seen before. They didn't give us enough towels until I went to ask for them and they took them out of the dryer. There was no shampoo or conditioner in the room, only soap, no cups or glasses. I asked for shampoo, they only gave me conditioner and said they don't provide shampoo. Who doesn't provide shampoo? So i had to go find shampoo when I stopped for breakfast on the way back from the airport. Hard to do near King Street metro. The tissue dispenser has no kleenex. Not sure if it is supposed to.||||I called central reservations and all they can do is transfer you to the specific location you want reservations for or give you the corporate number. NO ONE ever answers at the corporate office. Also no one answers at the front desk because the manager disappears and the cleaning guy doesn't speak English. There is no voice mail at the front desk. The place is scary with no amenities. I felt like i was staying in a slum. I felt so unsafe and vulnerable. Now I know why apartments often don't have rooms on the first floor. The guests seem to be less than upright members of society. I apologize if that sounds prejudiced, it is an observation. There are so many other places to stay in the area. It needs to either shut down completely or be completely renovated with a working ice machine, etc. Staying in a hotel should be an enjoyable experience, not a place to risk your life and worldly posessions. I wasted way too much time trying to get in touch with the front desk, the corporate office, central reservations. I couldn't even tell them their property had been vandalized! If they can't operate on $75/night then don't charge that little or don't operate. No one is forcing you to charge that little. It...
Read moreWhich one are you? The one looking to get a room or leave a really bad review? It's like Schrodinger's cat, you're both until you decide not to get a room here. Let me convince you.
For starters, you can get a room right across the street or little further up for the same price if you download a few apps and look for it. Redroof inn and Days inn, leaps and bounds better. Less likely to get attacked or robbed, a lot more quiet, and here's a crazy thought, a TV/fridge/microwave.
The place is really old and rundown. For example, I work a night shift and stayed here. When I came back from work at 6am, there was no power in my room... just mine and the one next to me. No one is there to get the power on, it was 40F that morning, and so was my room. Hours of calling 212 810-9504, the real number to the manager, rang to voice-mail till it just went straight to voice-mail when he shut off his phone...
It has a really bad cockroach and rat problem. Because they have ignored it, it's an infestation. If you put down a sandwich to go to the bathroom, good chance a rat will get nibble and there will definitely be no toilet paper. Should of looked before sitting. There's unlimited showers, aka poor man's bidet.
Nothing is clean, cigarette holes everywhere. The rooms have a stink like no other. Most of the usual clients come here to do drugs, and they all smoke in all rooms. Do you want non-smoking? You'll be the only reason it's called non-smoking that day. Do you think the cleaning lady went over all those tables tops the last person was doing drugs on? Depending on the person, you might lick the table clean for a buzz but your kid wasn't looking for that experience when they run their hand over anything that resembles flat.
The noise from the street is VERY LOUD!! You're right next to the on/off ramps of major highways. Police/fire/ambulance sirens at all hours. Horns, loud exhausts... not the best sleep.
One more thing. If you get a room for multiple nights, they'll just give someone your room randomly. Luckily for me, I was there during the day. From other reviews I've been reading, they'll put your stuff out while your away, and everything of value will go missing. Doesn't sound like an accident when it happens so often.
Ok, I'm done. Good luck if...
Read moreThis place was awful and you should stay far away. I don't care what that one silly user said giving it 4 stars trying to dismiss any criticism because "oh its got budget in the name what do you expect?" I expect it to be better while being modest. It doesn't have to be Hilton. Not complete trash. I stayed with a friend who arranged rooms starting last Wednesday. Starting off we got locked out because the door doesn't fully lock until you loudly slam it shut. It also doesn't unlock unless you PULL the knob as it unlocks since the lock isn't catching in the frame. We would never have guessed that and we had to pull the manager who mainly spoke Farsi for help since he didn't walk us through that nuanced trick. I tried getting help earlier that day at 9am and NO ONE was at the front desk and the door to the office was locked. The rooms themselves were mediocre to a little scary. We never had issues with bed bugs as other users reported but I still checked anyway. The walling is exposed. The air in the room is too warm as the heater was on 86 degrees F. It was cold outside this time of year but we easily started sweating inside. The water was super cold in the shower on the first day and we had to ask for them to get the boiler on. Water leaked from behind the toilet. They provided minimal towels for the shower. Shower towel rack was removed. No remote for the TV (which still had plastic on the screen). While this is out of the owner's control the neighbors were noisy and this place clearly has clientele that couldn't give a darn. The walls however are thin which doesn't help and I can hear people talking at 1-4am in the morning. I even heard a dog yippping next door. I saw vomit on the pavement in the parking lot the next morning. One user reported a car break in but I had no issues myself but it is worth saying. As well as reports of druggies living there. I left early Sunday to get away. This place is depraved. Save your money and stay somewhere else that actually cares, like the Days Inn or save up for the Hampton across the...
